I know its early and most are thinking about Christmas, but I'm curious... how have you generally spent your New Years Eve in the past? Are you a party hardy kind of dude or enjoy an evening with friends or a stay at home type?

Any ideas for this year yet?

I generally attend fairly quiet gatherings and get home early (or stay at home). I almost got hit twice driving home from a fraternity party in college and since have opted (except maybe 2 years) to be pretty
civil about the celebration. I like to start the New Year in good health (and remember it).

New Years Eve is just another night to stay home and go to bed early.

Most years I spend with my folks. Some years with close friends. Only once have we had a big party. This year I'm going down south with a bunch of good friends. Should be different.

New Years is one of my favourite parties of the Year.... but it is best to avoid the outrageously overpriced bars and clubs.

I spent it once in Chicago after a 2 week road trip to the west coast; several Hogmanays in Edinburgh, but most often my friends have organized a really *grand* party in Exeter or London --- surfing in Cornwall on New Years day has generally been obligatory afterwards :-)

Having said that, every single New Year's eve party we've had has always ended up with *someone* splitting up with their girlfriend or boyfriend...... hmmmm.... must be a Jynx.

only had one good new years though i've always made an effort. the best one was with my friend nicole, we went out for beers in the evening and went back to her place around 10pm and watched the fireworks on the telly.

this year, don't know what i'm doing, but i'll definitely be swearing my face off at how crap this year was.

I have had horrible luck with really bad New Years Eve celebrations, or I have typically stayed home. But this year I am changing that by going to New Orleans with several good friends, I'm wicked psyched about it.

New Year Eves is so overrated in my opinion. I can't believe what some places charge. Generally a house party is the best. Here in Boston, we have First Night with a lot of activities around the city including fireworks, ice sculpture, parades, etc. A friend has already asked to hold that date since he thinking about doing a house party. I'll probably do some of the First Night activities then head to his house. Where did 2007 go?

I'm with Paradox. NYE usually involves, champagne, lobster, a warm fire, some DVDs, and an early night.

And I hope you use that money to fund a prudent retirement fund there Stripper. That would be an awesome way to start the new year.icon_razz.gif

I usually donate a nice chunk of that money to a charity. This year it will be the Boomer Eisiason (sp) foundation. The rest i usually use to have a nice meal with. The base pay goes into the bank.

The one year i didnt dance i was bored outta my mind. Drunk, but bored outta my mind.

NYE for me and my friends usually consist of something different every year! We have had house parties, attended house parties, go out to the clubs here, but our most fun times have come when we've traveled to other cities. This year my two best friends and I are road tripping to Nashville, TN. What's there you ask!? Good question! In our eyes, as long as we are in good company of friends we'll have a great time no matter where we go and what we're doing! We just like trying different things! Anyone care to join us! icon_biggrin.gif
