Life is more than your tv
Life is more than going to work everyday
Life is more than thinking tomorrow will be better
    Life is more than pain
Life is more than your medication
Life is more than your country and its fancy flag
Life is more than you will ever know
    Life is not a trial
    Life is not the news
Life is not how much you know
Life is not the money you own

You are born, naked, alone, and its not until you get "debriefed" about how things are, that you get crushed. Ask a child, they play, they dont worry, they know truths you forgot to remember. How many things did you sacrafice, to fit in. No one was ever born wanting to earn money . We werent born wanting a nice job. Were born to live, to express, to eat, drink, and be merry. How dare any of you defend your slave status, you trade in your happiness and your love, for money and fame and fortune. Live, truly live. Let yourself be random. Let yourself love, and be loved. Why do we do the same things over and over and expect tomorrow to be different? Rise above the muck you were born in, push up, past your roots. See the sun, bathe. See the moon, stand in awe. Its not where you came from, but who you choose to be. Then you will know the secret of the lotus.

    Love is all there is.

Can you know a truth, and ignore it, or were you not paying attention? Ask yourself.

Watching TV, is like taking black spray paint to your third eye. Seriously.

the british born japanese scholar, r h blyth, allegedly wrote to his friend and fellow zen scholar, alan watts: "how are you alan? as for me, i've given up all thoughts of satori and enlightenment and am busy becoming attached to as many people and things as possible."

your post reminds me of that, and i think that's brilliant.

if you know what i'm writing about, that's sweet. if you don't know what i'm writing about, well, that's sweet too.

    be well.

Life is like a flower. A flower was made to blossom. It blossoms and it dies. Dies and blossoms again. Blossoms and dies, dies and blossoms again. Blossoms and dies. Dies and blossoms. Dies and blossoms again.

Oh, and I disagree. Life is a trial. As the lotus you quotes shows us, we must grow through and past the muddy waters to blossom into the beautiful sunlight

I find such arrogant pontificating so off-putting. Who the hell made you the fount of all wisdom and the rest of us idiots? As my mother used to say, "you take care of yourself and you will have your hands full."

this was not meant to be antagonistic in any way, its just sort of my view on life... my opinion is not the only one that matters... and neither is yours.... all this post is supposed to put out is the message that love is all there is. Harness that and become accepting to every1 and everything and nothing can touch you.

and by the way... i never said i was the fount of all wisdom and i certainly didnt say that the rest of you are idiots... this is not attacking any1.
its merely a thought that i posted to let others ponder about.

Perhaps you cant feel how it can comes across. I would suggest rewriting it without all the "you"s in there.

Just one example: "How dare any of you defend your slave status,..." ... WTF? ... icon_eek.gif ... That is pretty in-your-face and presupposing.

"Life is company" is a line from Sondheim's musical Company. That sentiment agrees with your line "Love is all there is."

Life destroys every little dream you have as you grow older, bit by bit. So that by the time you come across that gaping chasm that separates you from that fabled land of personal happiness, you'd rather step into the nothingness than go back.

LOL Take heart deadmansparty, we got it, liked it, and here's something for you...
"Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood."

    -TS Eliot

Lol Sedative, if more people could just do a little of this, in the smallest of ways....

""No one is useless in this world if he can lighten the burden of it for another."

...because you know with some people....

“Fair as the exterior may be, if you go in, you will find bare places, heaps of rubbish that can never be taken away, cold hearths, desolate altars, and windows veiled with cobwebs”
    -TS Eliot

    ....and that can be because

"Half of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm, but the harm does not interest them. "

    ...another one from Mr Eliot
