Yes, to everything that's been mentioned so far. I've been digging through my music and getting back into some old stuff lately. The Misfits have been on heavy rotation these days.

    My somewhat incomplete Last.fm profile..

I prefer oldies - as in early nineteenth century.

Vladimir Horowitz - The Last Recording is a favorite.

Chicago - Greatest Hits is pretty good.

    Bad Religion
    Social Distortion
    Rancid
    Husker Du/Bob Mould (OGP!)
    Dropkick Murphys
Mighty Mighty BossToneS (minus the soft stuff)
    Fishbone
...plus lots of little flash-in-the-pan regional ska punk bands who've come and gone.

...and yeah Green Day (but more of the earlier stuff)

(I generally lean towards more hardcore/ska-punk.)

I was going to mention that one because I like everything I've heard by them, but for some reason I don't feel fan-worthy enough.

Get "Energy", you'll love it! (it's the only thing they put out besides a crappy EP, lol)

I was going to make some corrections as you cannot have a discussion of punk without iggy and the stooges, but Sportyg, apparently, has excellent musical tastes and an appreciation of rock history. Clap clap clap!

    I'd also throw in MC5.

    My punk fix comes from

    #1--Bad Brains--I against I and Quickness
#2-Circle Jerks-I believe IV is my favorite album
    #3-Ramones--most of everything

    For other angst wielding bands...

    Primus-Frizzle Fry
    Ministry-LOR&H and Psalm 69
Skinny Puppy-Rabies or Cleanse Fold and Manipulate

Janes Addiction ranks as one of my top bands. You can't really get much better than the album "Nothings Shocking."

Thank you for mentioning Husker Du/Bob!!! It was a long day for me and totally gapped on them. Slapped myself this afternoon when I realized that I forgot.

Add Bouncing Souls to the mix too.

There's a lot of great smaller, lesser known bands out there right now. I somehow seem to have collected some of them as friends on my Myspace page for some reason, but they are cool nonetheless.
