I have watched TORCHWOOD on and off....it is interesting because the main character is gay/bisexual and it's science fiction and nerdy and well, I like that kind of thing.

Anyway, this mini series is supposed to be phenomenal. Check out this review from Entertainment Weekly....

    And the Chicago Tribune....

Well...you get the idea. It was shown in Britain 6 months ago and viewed by 30 milliion making it one of the most watched shows in history over there.

Anyone in England care to comment? Please don't spoil it for us though.

Anyway....just wanted to alert you guys! icon_biggrin.gif

The series shown in the UK was not six months ago, but only two weeks ago. This five-part series was on each evening fron Monday to Friday inclusive. Excellent viewing!

I don't think it was viewed by 30 million people, there are only 60 million in the country. More like 4 or 5 million but still a lot.

The show is great sci-fi by the way, imaginative and exciting.

It's good, and I liked the aspect that it was on every night, but at times you just felt, " why haven't the called upon the doctor" see what you think America.

Thanks man, I would have missed it and I absolutely love the show. Having a same-sex love-story being front and center in a popular show, that has great production values, is well written and on top of that not about being gay is a rare treat.

    Note from the OP:

Redheadguy you are right! Or at least close to right. Or definitely "right-er" than me!

In doing my research for this thread (yes I actually did) I came across this article from the Philly Inquirer.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/51196517.html

The Torchwood mini series was viewed by 6 million in Britain each evening for 5 nights.....and the writer says that comparing the size of Britain to the US, that would be the equivalent of 30 million American viewers.

I must have read this article too quickly.

Go Red! And apologies to all for my inaccuracy. icon_cry.gif

Can I watch this mini-series without watching the first two seasons of the show? I did see the Dr Who episodes where he was on the show.
