TODAY WAS A FUNNY DAY,I FINALLY EXPIERENCED MY 1ST AMOUNT OF RACISM FROM A FRIEND. NOW THIS FRIEND HAS MY PERSONAL MYSPACE AND ON REALJOCK I HAD THE COURTESY TO GET VERIFIED TO PROVE I'M REAL. NOW THE SAID PART IS THIS PERSON HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME FOR DAYS,BUT TO ONLY REVEAL THAT HE THINKS I'M A "BLACKIE"! HE CALLED ME A N$%!! WHICH TO ME IS THE MOST IGNORANT PHRASE IN THE HUMAN LANGUAGE. NOW ALL THIS STEMS FROM A PHONE CONVERSATION WE HAD THAT MAD HIM THINK ME A NEWARK,NEW JERSEY PRODUCT WAS BLACKicon_sad.gif. IF A GUY HATES ON A VERIFIED GUY PASSED ON A VOICE TONE AND A RACE,HE'S A JERK NO MATTER THE LOOK. SO I HAD TO RANT AND NOW I SHOULD POST A QUESTION

WHY DOES RACE MATTER AGAIN,WHY CAN'T WE ALL AS A GROUP AND NATION SEE THE PERSON,NOT THE COLOR,AND WHY MUST WE OFFEND OTHERS TO BOOST OUR CONFIDENCE?

My guess is this person feels inferior to you and thus he made inappropriate comments to make you feel like a lesser person. I think its more of a personal issue than racism. I'd avoid anyone that behaves in that manner. Surround yourself with positive people.

Sounds like you just picked the runt in the litter. A lot of it is upbringing, lack of education, self-esteem issues...I'd just pass on that one.

    < CAPS LOCK > off

We all have personal likes and dislikes. I don't view my friends by color lines or anything. But as far as guys go I know what I want in another guy. I wouldn't have sex with a black guy. I don't think he is any less of a person but its just my choice because I'm not attracted.

There is a difference between being racist and being selective. I agree with Hndsm, sounds like your the victim of a personal attack.

It defies logic and his utter lack of intelligence is a clear example of his stupidity!

I agree with HK I to believe it was more personal than racial. Since you did not say what he wanted to hear...
a verbal assult was his wapon of choice....poor choice nonetheless his choice.

    STOP YOUR YELLING

Other than that, take comfort in the fact that guys like that are increasingly being pushed to the fringes, or dying because they're over 80 and have very outdated attitudes about race.

It's the stealth racism in our government that bugs me more.

    harvardty-

I can relate...when I'm on a roll and my mind and fingers are totally in a race and my fingers are losing BIG TIME! I have done the same.

Then do the unthinkable and not proof! It reads like my 3rd grader wrote it....LOL!

I got the gist of what you were saying, maybe because I can relate having been subjected to bigotry and racism not much, no matter what amount one is subjected this boil on the but of humanity it's too much!

Once the shock wears off you'll be fine. It will make you more enlighten that's for sure and you'll be to detect it more.

This sort of robs you of a certain innocence.

    That we all have.icon_smile.gif

Well, your topic said it all (RACISM AGAIN!!!) I tend not to or atleast try not to listen to stupid minded people like that. My roommate here had know idea that I was Black Hispanic until I moved here to Arizona and when he finally saw me for the first time on my fist visit, we had a good laugh at the fact that he figured I was white..lol. Like (GQguy) said, it's just the way some people are raised (and by no means do I think you were rasied wrong or anything) and like some of the other said he probably is dealing with the fact that he is old or just has a big issue he needs to deal with. Look past this crap man!!!!!! I don't know about you or the others, but I do beleive in - WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!!!- Hang in there..

I am so sorry that you had to endure such a demeaning display of discrimination. It is not right. Unfortunately, this type of ignorance is timeless. Those who practice racism have yet to figure out that the war between the states is over, and that the cotton plantations and the "slaves" have all passed into history. One day this form a hate will pass too, then maybe we can work on getting past the homophobes too.
Take a moment and recompose yourself. Get your workout clothes on and go beat the snot out of a punching bag or whatever your favorite hard workout is....just get the frustration out of your system in a way that improves you. This racist aquaintance isn't worth all the YELLINGicon_rolleyes.gif and poor sentence structure....LOL!!!icon_lol.gif Take Care!

all i can type is im not surprised.....i use to date this person a a year ago. He was white/ Spanish European. We dated for a year and within that year he met all my friends etc. We went out allot and i knew he had friends but the thing is i never met any of them. It turns out his friends didnt approve of him dating a black man...and to top it off...one night we went to dinner and his phone rang..it was one of his best friends as i could tell from the voice....and i heard his friend say..."oo your out with the Jamaican again"? As if i didn't have a name, and he said it in the most rude fashion.....theres no feeling to describe what i felt that night and i broke up with him the next day. We have to realize that there are guys out there like this...gay men who know what its like be discriminated against who go out of their way to discriminate against other people.
