Please Shoot Me Now: Is this how you turn somebody gay?

Man, I hate it when I can feel somebody pulling my strings, and yet it still works.

First, it must be said straight out: "Gay Music" sucks, big time. Even disco had more substance (possibly because there were fewer devices around that allowed the talentless to generate single-finger chords and drum beats.)

Anyway, earlier this week, I watched the movie "Trick" while riding the rollers. Possibly the oxygen-deprived monotony of spinning put me into a semi-hypnotic state. Somehow, the background music from the go-go boy scene got stuck in my head. (Some dance-beat remake of Gary Wright's "Dreamweaver".) Now, every time I go near the bike, I keep having flashbacks of the sexy guy in the thong strutting on stage. I think I can feel my heartbeat going up.

I know this stuff is trash, but I have to find that recording. And I'm developing confused feelings abut bike riding.

It might be interesting to perform some experimental manipulations of the AV system at your local gym...

Funny you should bring this up. I heard a dance version of "Dreamweaver" in one of the custom-made videos for Halloween that they do at Sidetracks in Chicago. After a little Googling and YouTubing, I found out that the version from the "Trick" soundtrack is by Erin Hamilton. From 1998. She, BTW, is the daughter of Carol Burnett. It's on YouTube.

OK, now it's spooky. I went down to spin tonight, turned on the satellite classic rock station, and it was playing Gary Wright's version! I was severely disoriented for a minute.

    LOL!

As one of the few who don't listen to an iPod at the gym, I'm constantly muttering under my breath about the pitiful playlist a la Bally. Slash dot dash dot slash dot dash dot slash dot dash dot dash dot com. Dot com. Where's my gun? Oh yeah, I don't own one. Another anomaly considering I live in Texas.

Ok, Mindgarden... you asked for it...

You can buy that soundtrack here:

Beware, though... Tori Spelling also sings a track on here... sort of... icon_rolleyes.gif
