I don't think much about it because it has no intrest to me what so ever now How should we become a better person from this experience??? The same way you grow from any experience..grow and move forward be non judgemental for those who move at a slower pace towards being clean
How to stay away without blowing off your friends??? If your friends respect you and know it's difficult for you to say NO. they should reserve frm doing anything that might tempt you

treat drugs with respect. Don't lump acid/pot in the same category as speed/coke. The former category expands consciousness, when used in reasonable doses, the other destroys it. If you can't handle a drug, don't do it. Do a drug only if you want to do it, and if you know you'll get something out of it. Cliche as it sounds, you are the master of your own body.

I ate a pot cookie once and a hash brownie once years ago. I can't relate to the struggles that guys have with drugs.
I don't like them because I don't feel like I'm in control of myself.

I don't know what it is that keeps me away from drugs.
I suppose in the suburbs people did it as more a social thing. It was fun, it was rebellion against mommy and daddy. But it never seemed that way in the ghetto. It was always so ugly and horrible. I watched it tear families apart for good.
Maybe that did it. Seeing way more of the ugly before I ever moved to the suburbs and saw the whole 'wow its so much fun!' side of it.
I've known a lot of people who dabbled. From Meth, to Heroin and crack. I've just never messed with it.
I do respect your wishes to ween yourself off. And wish you the best of luck.

I smoked pot and dropped acid in late high school and college. I've smoked once or twice since then. I'm not really into it, but I have some friends that still smoke and it doesn't bother me.
I have no interest in doing anything harder, nor being around people who are doing it.

1 - No 2 - Most of us are smart enough to realize whats good or not. 3 - Staying away from it 4 - to stay away from your friends is not the answer, you need friends, and true friends will be there to help you as long as you also want to help yourself.

I smoke weed at least a few times a week but haven't touched any other drugs in over a year. I don't consider weed a drug and can quit whenever I want with no side effects. I am near certain that it will be legalized in my lifetime. As for other drugs, they're fun but can sometimes lead to bad decisions. For the future I only plan on using "other" drugs very rarely/on special occasions. I am planning on going to burning man this year so I have a feeling I might indulge quite a bit there

Drugs take you nowhere good -- period. The world is littered with lives that have been destroyed by them. Stay away from them -- "Just Say No" -- and try and be an example to your friends who think drugs somehow will enhance their lives -- they won't.

CuriousJockAZ said -- "Just Say No" -- Ewwww.. that reminds me of Nancy Reagan when I was like a teenager and early 20 something. While I've never done any kind of drug in the least (never had any desire to do so in the world), I know it can be tough for those not to partake in a peer situation... and certainly to stop hard drugs. Kudos for those who have quit them! I can see Todd (Curious Jock) and Nancy Reagan.... "just say no"... LOL

Actually, Nancy Reagan's coined phrase of "Just Say No" pretty much says it all. It's simplistic, but the best advice I know.

I have tried nearly every drug at least once. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with experimenting, but that's just my worldview: I'm a SEVEN on the enneagram, so trying new things in life and taking risks is just the way i prefer to live.
Addiction, however, is a very serious matter, and I know quite a few people who got carried away and lost perspective. Trying drugs is definitely NOT for everyone.

I will refrain from judgement here but i will say this: marijuana is indeed a drug. It eats me up when people say things like "i dont consider weed a drug". It dosent matter what you "consider" it. It is what it is and what it is is a drug. You dont get to stand under the umbrella to avoid the scrutiny of the other addicts because you "only smoke weed".
Furthermore If it IS ever legalized, it will join other products such as tobacco and alcohol as legalized DRUGS. Do what you want to your body but dont sell yourself short. If you smoke weed, you are a drug user.

Well living 2 hours away from the border of Mexico. Its pretty easy to get a hold of drugs, But the thing that scares/shocks me is that the people using drugs are getting younger and younger and younger. I know 12 year olds that smoke pot with their older brothers/sisters and go to parties way past their curfew.Sometimes, I wonder where are the parents hmmm? oh wait right next to them snorting coke. When I was 10 my mom had this boyfriend that was a Hard core drugs user and I remember I found this weird scale that was all powdery under her bed(she didn't do drugs only him)She yelled at me for snooping. He was acting weird so I had to investigate. I've tried pot(which is soo overrated ) I think that Pot and alcohol go hand and hand. When I tried it I expected more out of it. Even though I thought I was falling and I ran into the counters alot while screaming "I gets thursstay!!". I would have done the same thing if I were to drink and get wasted. Its more of a responsibility thing to me. Like don't drink and drive. Don't smoke pot and drive something along those lines.
I was pretty close to trying Coke, but something came up and I wasn't able to go to a party where I was suppose to try it. (thank goodness!)
People like the lace that stuff like no other.
Some of my friends like to drink and do drugs. I just make sure that I am not around them when they do it and tell them not to do it around me.

I've done X, K, coke, salvia, and smoked a fair amount of pot. I came really close to doing acid a few times before, too.
K is stupid. It made me feel like I was drunk and I was laughing at nearly everything for almost an hour. Coke made me feel over-stimulated and anxious. Rolling on X was an amazing experience, but my come-ups were always tinged with anxiety. Everyone says that a salvia trip is supposed to be extremely intense, but I didn't have such a trip - in fact, I felt absolutely nothing. And pot made me feel super-relaxed, seemingly more creative, and I had extremely deep thoughts.
Overall, my history of drug use was brief - I experimented with these things only because I was new to the rave scene two years ago and wanted to see what the drugs were like.

I've never purposely done any of it and I doubt if I ever will. Recreational drugs don't seem to have too much effect on me, and I hate vicodin since it just makes my body limp but my mind is racing a mile a minute....and I still feel the pain of the kidney stones, the car accident, etc. I don't have fun on alcohol, I just start yawning and get tired.
I do like caffeine though, and there are other herbal supplements that improve my mood.

Drugs are kind of the reason why i ended up at the ass of the world. So I am not really happy about them in the first place.
I have to say for my luck i never had to wittness someone going down because of drugs, only me and that part I never really grasped.
No matter how you call it, weed counts also as a drug and goes hand in hand with alcohol and tabak. That it isnt as severe as the others is the most dangerous part of it. That makes it the perfect startpoint to jump to other drugs, because sooner or later it wont be enough. You can say "I have it under control" and" I can stop whenever i want" as often as you want, it wont change the fact that you are still doing it!
On the last note, I am no angel either. When I get offered a joint on a party I smoke it with plesure, but besides that I keep of buying or taking it. Does that make it any better? NO! Does that mean I am not a lost case? I hope so.
