Im suffering from the above and go for Surgery on the 17th December.

Im going for a narrow excision and was wondering if anyone knew about this and what to expect from it and the follow up and recovery time. Ive been told that it is left open to heal from the bottom up which sounds gross.

    Any advice greatly received!!

I have had minor outpatient surgery twice for cysts in my maxillary sinus. I was back on my feet in two days max. My brother has had similar surgeries, however, that have taken him a little longer.

    Good luck.

Thanks! I was told it could be 3 to 12 weeks so your experience makes me feel a lot better about this!

Pilonidal sinus is an abnormal tract created in your lower back (around the asscrack) because of the hair growing into the sking, causing recurrent infection and evenutally a sinus because of it, so the procedure involved removing the infected tissue, cleaning the surrounding area, anitbiotics to get rid or n e left over bugs, and making sure the area is hair free from now on...the surgery isnt's THAT bad..but reveovery does take time
