I am going to assume like most bars it doesn't get crowded until 10-11 pm. Gay clubs tends to get going at midnight to close.

Congratulations! Lakewood? Being a native Columbus man, myself, I shudder at the thought. Baby steps, I suppose.

Enjoy the bar scene, but don't let yourself get too wrapped up in it. All things in moderation.

muchmorethanmuscle saidI go to a bar once in a blue moon. Now that I'm older it's not as unbearable as it used to be. But honestly I go because a buddy of mine with me wants to go and we're in the vicinity.

    robby's a scene queen?

He and I never went to a bar together. We do domestic things together like slip into puffy cozy bathrobes, set our hair in curlers, practice on our crocheting, gossip about the latest RJ forums and RJ members, and in the meantime there are some cookies baking in the oven. You know....typical guy stuff. icon_cool.gif

    This is such a lie

I avoid Lakewood, then again I avoid Wharehouse district too and West 5th. I like Bier Market on 25th though.

I went to my first gay bar just outside of Danbury Connecticut. I was hoping the crowd would be a little nicer to a boy on his 21st birthday, but 10 guys old enough to be your dirty uncle smelled jail bait.

    HAHAHAHA

My first gay bar someone came up and whispered in my ear, "Are you gay, because I want you to fuck me, if not, I will just say you are a cute straight boy"

    ...

My best friend then responded with a "Gotta appreciate how gay people are just so forthcoming."

I should've killed myself when he put it in me. After the first time, before we were married, Ralph promised never again. He promised, and I believed him. But sin never dies. Sin never dies. At first, it was all right. We lived sinlessly. We slept in the same bed, but we never did it. And then, that night, I saw him looking down at me that way. We got down on our knees to pray for strength. I smelled the whiskey on his breath. Then he took me. He took me, with the stink of filthy roadhouse whiskey on his breath, and I liked it. I liked it! With all that dirty touching of his hands all over me. I should've given you to God when you were born, but I was weak and backsliding, and now the devil has come home. We'll pray.

Why is that? I've never been much of the nocturnal type yet at bars/clubs I can break night without a yawn.

Indoctrinated when you leave the bar/club and sun is rising and your praying to god to stop the sunrise. icon_lol.gif

That's just when people go out. If I am going drinking at a bar I like to get there at 9 ish and stay to midnight, 2 if it is a good conversation. If I have to go to a club, you don't get there before 11 and stay until. While in Li├Ęge Belgium, I had the terrible honor of discovering that the bars NEVER CLOSE. They are 24/7 so waiting for "last call" to know it is time to go home doesn't happen. It is terrible.

Last time I was there was about 20 years ago. I didn't have a good time, but it had little to do with the place. Back then, they did play good music.

The place hasn't changed in 20 years. The music hasn't changed in 10. I spent a glorious summer working there as a bar back. It was also my responsibility to break up the public sex in the parking lot. Oh man, it was so trashy I loved it.

It was a good 'summer' place. I must have been oblivious to the parking lot antics though. (Damn my young cowering eyes.)

it's hard for me to picture a bar or club with only 10 people in it. I'm kind of amazed at that. The clubs I've been to were always so crowded, you could barely move! People waited in cue lines outside - looking great, hoping and praying the gatekeepers would grant them admission! 10 people? Wow.
