soooo, i hae never been to an actual rave...

been to many circuit parties around pride but never a rave.

there seems somthing amazing about just dancing and being around 4000 ppl that intrigues me.

i was thinking about going to the kosmic festival in LA on the 22nd, but all my friends seem to be busy that weekend :/

anyone here a raver, or been to a rave, what were your thoughts?

if you enjoyed your circuit parties, you'll love a rave... in fact, id say they are quite similar, except the sexuality may be turned down just slightly for a rave.

kosmic festival should be okay. the hudson/gotham theatre is cool, as long as you dont mind the drive to san bernadino. and try and get there early as the line can occasionally be atrocious. the line-up looks fair, but the atmosphere should be pretty awesome.

    anymore questions.... PM me.

yeah i wouldn't mind the drive, im in San Diego so it's not to far.

i dont want to go to a real expensive one for the first time, and kosmic is only like 30$ it says.

i just cant find a friend who wants to go with me :/

What exactly is the difference between a circuit party and a rave? One is 100% gay and one is...75%? Is it different types of music or anything? One less drug-oriented?

a rave is like a one day event i think (like i said i have never been lol)

and a circuit party is like at prides when there is a big party everynight. circuit parties go for several days, think a pride celebration or a white party.

thats what i think is the difference at least

I went to hundreds of raves 10 years ago. They were fun. Never did drugs, but what set them apart from high school parties, bars, and clubs, is that the atmosphere was (most times) far more open-minded and liberating, which lured me in having felt repressed (as anyone would) from high school. Having said that I'm pretty sure today raves are just female idolizing tweaker parties full of people in their upper 20s and early 30s still thinking they are teenagers. But go to one. Try it out. It's different than circuit parties (especially because they play many genres of dance music, not just circuit house or circuit-electro house).

Raves are always fun. You get to hear other kinds of music that you wouldn't in a club, like gabber, happycore, psytrance, or drum 'n bass.

Insomniac and Go Ventures always throw the best massives in LA, but for a real raving experience, you gotta find a 'lil underground ~ those are the best.

And by the way, I love this song:

muchmorethanmuscle saidJudging by the song that Shemsan posted, sounds like the music of a rave party is a lot more fun than all that diva shit you hear at a circuit party. icon_smile.gif

God, I hate that kind of fucking music. It always seems to be the same 'ol diva-flavoured house songs ~ with no regards to beat change or anything. Ugh...

And by the way, the song that I posted is from 1991 ~ the way raves used to be. I have an original copy of it on vinyl! icon_biggrin.gif
