i'm confused... i know that as a member, you get more channels and some HD/movie channels. but with poor economy today, and to save money is to cancel your membership. but can you still watch some tv channels when you are not a membership?

i understand that DTV is like a booster for analog tv, right? but do you still have to be a member of any cable company in order to see DTV's HD channels?

DTV is free. You can view HD quality broadcasts, as long your TV supports it.

If you don't have an HDTV, then no big deal. Just get a converter box from Best Buy and hook it up to your TV. You'll see little black bars on the top and bottom of your screen.

Cable TV is not a membership. It's a scam. I quit cable TV over a year ago. I'm saving so much money now. Besides, almost all the popular shows are streaming their episodes for free on the internet. I don't see the point in paying for cable now.

These days most of the big channels have their websites where you can watch all of their shows for free and commercial free. You can go to hulu.com, or nbc.com etc and watch previous seasons too. It works pretty good for me and everything is in HD quality.

it's great about DTV, and no more wasting money to cable company. if DTV can provide the internet plug, that would be a big plus~! but that's just a dream to think about. and i wonder how much you guys paid for internet service monthly? mine is $65 monthly with high-speed interent 10 mbps.
