    Howdy all,

I haven't played volleyball in a while but I'd like to get back into it. Like actual tournament play. Thing is I'm not a pro by any means. I'm good on d and sets but my spike leaves a lot to be desired. I imagine my whole game is off compared to some on here (especially you NAGVA types). Is there somewhere in Jersey that I can get back in the game with, boost my game up and what not. I'd love to get in on some of the tourneys. (Last one I played with was through the Coast Guard and we took third w00t). Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

    PS I'm in South Jerz.

    Hi Chris,

Lots of people play at Asbury Park...actually this weekend there is a tournament there....

This will be my first time playing in the tournament but I have heard it's really fun.

I also play in Gotham Volleyball during the fall and spring...

NYC is probably a bit far, though, if you're in south Jersey.

    Good luck!

Thanks man. I've actually looked at the Asbury site a bit. Is it pick up games or is there an actual team? It's a bit of a drive still, definitely not gonna make this weekend. Though I wouldn't mind planning for a future tourney. As I said I'm no pro but would definitely like to play. I keep an eye out for future games. New York is a bit far (only 2 hrs) but maybe one of these days I'll take some time off to trek up there. Thanks for the help.

For the tournaments and league play the teams are organized in advance. I do think they do have pick-up games on weekends there....if you head there some weekend in the summer I'm sure you'll find some games to join in. I've heard it's a lot of fun. im' excited about the tourney this weekend, hoping the rain stays away...
