I pay $37.70 per month at the YMCA here in Wichita....and the facilities are wonderful.

I know when the new Andover YMCA opened up (and its a part of the greater Wichita YMCA group).. an "Anytime Fitness" put up a promotion... $15.99 per month (but you had to sign a 2 year agreement.) New place with nice equipment, but no 8 lane
lap pool or nothing like the 155,000 sq. foot new Andover Y has.... LOL

I feel fortunate to have such options.

24 Hour Fitness offers a pre-paid plan. You pay a large lump sum upfront, and it covers 3 years. After the 3-year period is over, you only pay a small annual renewal fee. Plus, you get access to all the "Sport" level locations through out the United States.

So in my case, I paid around $700 back around 2002. And after 2005, I have been paying $20 a year for gym membership. Some people get a little suspicious and think it's scam. But I can assure you that I've been paying $20 a year. They haven't increased the fee at all.

Here's another tip for anyone that is interested. If you can't afford the large upfront fee, Costco sells 24 Hour Fitness memberships. I believe they sell 2 year terms. There are no contracts or sign up fees. After the term is over, you can walk away, or you can go back to Costco and buy another 2 year membership.

Boston Sports Clubs (NYSC) - Normally 89/mo for a 'passport membership' lets you get in any club at any time on a corporate rate for 60/mo, then I get 30 reimbursed from my company, and another 150 back from our Health Care Plan! icon_smile.gif

$25 / month at LA Fitness... gets me access to every LA Fitness in my state. I could have paid a slightly higher rate to have access to every LA Fitness in the country, but it wasn't necessary for me.

Facilities vary by location, but my primary location has a dedicated spin/cycle room, a separate room for aerobics and other classes, an upper level with all the cardio machines, a swimming pool, a huge whirlpool/hot-tub, and of course all the normal work-out gear. Oh, they have several racquetball courts too.

    Take that, MuchMore! icon_cool.gif

$350 a year at a private gym. I'm thinking of going to Planet Fitness, though. It would be cheaper and it's a little closer to work.

$0 - because I teach at the fitness facility.

I'm lucky because it's a chain across Canada - Goodlife Fitness. So even if I travel within the country I can go to the gym.
