So I get this urge for some tacos, and there's a Taco Bell within a short walking distance of me, some good exercise. I haven't been to a Taco Bell since I moved to Florida, in fact maybe not for 7 or 8 years before today?

Last time I can remember it was around 2 AM after a party, when it was the only place still open and I was hungry. What makes it memorable for me was that I was in drag. Kinda stood out, being there in a cocktail dress, high heels and a feathered hat (pic in my private RJ collection, taken earlier that same evening). But I wasn't hassled and ate my taco with my BF in peace.

So anyway, today I wasn't in drag, and ordered 3 tacos and a small Pepsi to have there.

"The drink is free for seniors," the counter person told me, as she rang me up.

Seniors??? I didn't say I was a senior! Is it that so obvious now? How old is a senior in Taco Bell??

True, I did walk over there with my cane, but still...

I am just so crushed... icon_cry.gif

Maybe they noticed the untrimmed white hairs growing out of your nose and ears.

May untrimmed white hairs grow out your ass, and your saggy balls reach your knees. LOL! icon_wink.gif

No, I'm reasonably well groomed, I'll have you know. Indeed, full head of hair and only salt & pepper. I want to think it was the cane, but sure hit me like a football tackle. YIKES!

Well, next time you go to Taco Bell get the large drink and let them know you are a senior . . . . try it other places, too.

What kind of sauce would you like for your spirit? Mild, Hot, or Extra Hot?

Actually I did start doing that when I turned 55, in the few restaurants that offer their senior meals beginning at that age. Other places go 60, 62 or 65. But what I learned is that the so-called senior meal, while typically costing less, is just a smaller portion, so it's not like a big bargain or anything. And you're much more limited in selections, as most places specify which meals qualify, a small section on the back of the menu, for instance.

Still, one of my perverse pleasures at that time was to take my youngest son, then 12, with me when he was visiting. I'd get the Senior meal and he'd get the Kids meal, and I wasn't even his grandfather! LOL! And I'd be carded carefully back then when I'd assert my status.

But now they just assume it on their own... [SOB] icon_cry.gif

    Hey, don't feel bad.

I felt ancient some years back when an 18 year old college freshman called me Sir. I was only twenty eight then. Then an older colleague started telling me about reciding gums as one ages and her dental issues. It was a depressing day. I remember it vividly.

    It was like double ouch!

My pleasure. The Ads Off was my principle reason for buying the Supporter membership, quite frankly. Worth every penny.

Glad to hear you don't diss us older guys. Neither do I, honestly, except to have some fun at my own expense. My partner is older than I am (which reminds me, gotta check on his life support in the next room again), and most of our friends are in the 40s to 60-something range. No chicken hawk ME. icon_biggrin.gif

I dunno, you are missing out on chances to meet goth chicks and go to gay assisted living facilities.

I still don't understand why you were at Taco Bell. Wasn't it Bingo night somewhere? There's probably free donuts and coffee at Bingo.

That may be what constitutes an exciting night in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, but not here in Fort Lauderdale. Besides, as my OP should have suggested to you, including the time stamp, this was just today near noontime. Your reading glasses may need replacement, dear. icon_wink.gif
