How to WEEN yourself of BAD HABITS

    In case there is anyone out there trying to cut a bad habit, or eat better, these things worked for me:

    I drank Mountain Dew for like 20 years, and I'd always tell people that it contains Orange Juice (it does, look at the label), but I wanted to stop. I was hooked on it for the taste, not the caffeine.

    What I learned is that you don't deprive yourself completely of something, you have less, and reward yourself WITH it if you did well at NOT having it.

    So every time I wanted a Dew, I would say I had to have a full glass of water with it. Then I would switch to a Pepsi one day (much less caffeine) and also a glass of water. I knew I would still allow myself a Mountain Dew as a reward later sometime in the week.

    Well, it was only about three weeks of doing this when I completely lost my desire for Mountain Dew. I could not believe it. That was like 8 years ago.

    Now I do things like when I make a turkey/cheddar sandwich, I put half a slice of cheese on it instead of full. I still get the cheese taste, but less calories, and a packet of cheese lasts twice as long!

    Any habits you've been able to get yourself to break, and how?

    I used to bite my nails all the way down to bloody little nubs. The one day when I was about 20 or so, I stopped. I Haven't done it once in 18 years. There was no secret or process, I just stopped the behavior.

    find a new bad habit. replace old bad habit with new bad habit and repeat.

    try using less peanut butter...will cut down on your temptation to lick genitals.

    Nope, still masturbate.


    That's a good habit though. It helps keep your prostate healthy, and studies have shown that just getting an erection increases testosterone production. I do my best to make time for it daily...twice. icon_smile.gif

    You just need someone to lick your genitals for you! icon_lol.gif
