I wouldn't date anyone who posted a "would you date a _____" thread.

The forums have really gotten awful lately. I've been here a couple years, and really, it seems like most of the posts amount to "yes" or "no" questions, bizarre news stories, and other happy, senseless traffic that clots the flow of brainwaves.

Whenever I post a serious topic or something funny, I get physical threats or attacks on my character. (Not from all of you, of course.)

Would I date a ______? I think the answer is "yes" for those of us who don't judge someone by his profession. YES, I understand it's a joke.

    HOWEVER,

I would like to see some more serious topics posted here, and perhaps a new-found respect for the "forum" venue, where we should avoid calling each other names and attacking each other.

Does anyone out there think about things? RealJock is starting to feel like a teen magazine for pop-homos. Boring. Yawn. Keep this site interesting.

I understand and all and this is troubling me too. icon_confused.gif But the real question is: Would you date anyone who posted a "I wouldn't date anyone who posted a "would you date a _____" thread." thread?

Or better yet, would you date anyone who posted a "I wouldn't date anyone who posted a "would you date a "I wouldn't date anyone who posted a "would you date a _____" thread." thread." thread?

Hm... *consults teen magazine astrology charts*

Agreed. I have had farts with more plot and character development than many of the subjects in the last 6 months. Can we just once and for all declare a site-wide ban on femmes and fats so that we no longer have to debate whether or not they're worthy human beings? Tho, in fairness, we should also block assbag-ish bodybitches, which the sum total ban would leave about 18 members, mostly from countries in the eastern part of Europe that have no vowels in their names.

I know. And that's fine. But really-- lately I'm just so bored on this site because everything is all about yes or no, or the guy above you... it fucking sucks and i don't like it. it's fun once in a while. honestly, this site is getting bigger all the time. although it used to be a well-kept secret, a lot more shallow people have joined and are just destroying the whole experience.

Seriously. When I look at other forum sites on the web, the topics are considerably more important.

Here's a site for you newbies:

I see many topics people post in an attempt to have a good discussion..

Why not develop some good topics to discuss instead of complaining and asking everyone else to do the work..

and no, I wouldn't not date someone who did start a would you ____ the person above you.. silly questions..

Tanker, you of all people know that I often start topics of value. I'm not talking about me.

But umm... didn't you just start "would you date a unicorn?"

I don't have anything interesting to say. All I can do is critisize others. I think the same goes for 80% or more of the population.

The forum sometimes has its really depressing moments, like a month ago we had like 20 threads talking about Religion and pretty much repeating the same stuff and now is all Obama once again or Europe vs US. It lacks diversity and that makes it really boring for sure, but complaining doesnt solve the problem. If you want a different forum then go make a difference, go post something good enough to drags others attention from the boring side. Just to make sure... Im NOT saying Religion or Politics are boring topics, its interesting, but once they repeat the same over and over its just meh

I have tried to post interesting topics. I continue to do so. I'm complaining as well. That's the point. I mentioned it in my OP.

just because you think something is interesting that doesnt make it interesting, it just means you think its interesting. As I said before, you have to be good enough to drag others attention away from the boring side. Your intentions might be excellent but that doesnt guarantee its success.

Dan you do realize that this is a social network and some come here to bullshit and view pixs while others come here to become informed and view pixs.
Whatever reason, It is valid as they can only contribute as much as what they deem interesting. After a long day at wrk maybe all that's worth contributing is Would I date the guy above or below. and those threads offer very little brainwaves which is sometimes needed. The ones that post a reply and start what you deem as a good thread should be your focus and topic of conversation and not to ridicule those less thoughtful

I can't help but remember that one of your latest topics is one where you antagonized a fellow board member and you encouraged others to do so with name calling.

Uh, where is the respect in that? How exactly did that avoid attacking one another? And the excuse you provided is a very weak one:

"I would never want any of you to overtly insult other RJ members in the way they have insulted me (or you). If that person figures out thinks you're talking about him, then it's a result of his own guilty conscience at work."

That's a pathetic excuse that maybe a student of yours would try to use to alleviate themselves from any wrongdoing, and as a teacher you ought to know that it is an inexcusable response. It was not a result of one's own guilty conscience at work, but rather picking out the first letter of each word to spell out the member's name.

So like I said, if you want something different — do something different. Don't retread on the same immaturity levels you have exhibited in the past. Although I do want to applaud you on that "man up" discussion. That was a good one.

I just think that the silly forums add a sense of levity most people can cope with. The more cerebral forums open you to critisms. We don't like to be called on to the carpet. Well, Chucky doesn't mind everybody is always blasting him.

Are you not the ass who started that nonsense about michael jackson, when most others were respectfully expressing their sympathy?

I've noticed other posts about people who have since died. And I've been waiting for your supposedely expression of grief. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

We are all individuals- either create a post or find one you like and post to it, instead of being a whiny bitch!

    It's that simple!
