I hate to admit this...actually REALLY hate to admit this. But so far I'm loving every Whitney Houston song I've heard so far on this new album. Super lush retro, funk disco reinvented. She definitely made a comeback. =)

I was a little iffy on this one after the first listen...but a couple of plays and I started enjoying it. It was so not what I expected from a Swizz Beats production, so retro 70's dance funk. I expected sirens, whistles and jump beats over some thundering bass.

Her vocals...while not So Emotional era Whitney...work for the song. She is sounding more like auntie Dionne of late.

This track is so authentically soulful and disco. It's not even trying to be contemporary pop top 40 crap. It's just 70s reinvented...which in my opinion is downright lush. Reminds me a LOT of Naked Music label based out of San Francisco. That's probably why I like this track.

But I'm so over 2009 already. 1975 is fresh because it's not really mainstream anymore. It's the vintage and alterna-hot, while 2009 is sooooo alterna-not.

I don't know why, but I feel like every song a black person sang in the 1970s, or that reminds me of the 1970s, is just automatically amazing.
