Who said that homosexuality was nature's way of making sure the gifted weren't burdened with kids?

Seems to be some truth to this line of thought

This came up in a class while I was in college (umm... let's all pretend that this was recently.... yea, that's it). A professor was talking about animal populations in confined habitats (e.g., islands) and how they grow until they consume all available food and then have a population collapse.

He made a passing comment that same-sex sexual behavior was observed to increase as the population grew toward its limit.

I have absolutely no idea what he based this on -- I've never found anything else about it. I never forgot it though.

lol, we think she's isn't wrong.

I stumbled on this by accident - when I was a teen I had 3 mice; 2 females and one male. Man were they busy. In a short while the population had grown to 40. The cage was full, then the population dropped off but you could see the little critters mounting each other. I ended up taking the whole crate cage to the vet to find out if they were slowly going sterile or something. It was 'or something' all right, lol!

Those boys were busy little sodomites.

    ...I wonder WHY?

I think that as populations grow, there will be more homosexual activity and appear to be more homos since there is less of a need to create offspring... no financial benefits to having kids. It could work for the animal kingdom too.

Some think-tanks have this idea, that homosexuality in the animal kingdom is an evolutionary advantage - re; population control.

There's also the idea that environmental pollution reaching a tipping point causes changes in the pregnant person/animal that alter the chemicals/hormones pumped into the womb.

    Just ideas, men.....
