"Vintage, in wine-making, is the process of picking grapes and creating the finished product. A vintage wine is one made from grapes that were all, or primarily, grown and harvested in a single specified year. In certain wines, it can denote quality, as in Port wine, where Port houses make and declare vintage Port in their best years. From this tradition, a common, though incorrect, usage applies the term to any wine that is perceived to be particularly old or of a particularly high quality."

I think I get what you mean with regard to older guys, or guys of a certain age (who don't remind you of your father or grandfather). Though if you are referring to quality, I cannot imagine being with somebody who I consider to be of a lesser quality than I want for myself. So, somebody who you deem vintage, somebody else might think nothing off. Different tastes I suppose.

Mr Perfect might not be Mr Perfect For You ...?

You know. I look at myself as a good bottle of red wine. I just keep getting better with the years.
