Where do you anticipate meeting your significant other?

Many gays frequent bars and clubs, but is that really the ideal place to meet someone you will eventually deem as your partner/spouse?
A personal fantasy of mine is meeting mister right at a book store. I guess it's due to the fact that the setting is more intellectual, but that's just me.

I would like to meet Mr.Right at a place that's artsy. I just can't stand a person that knows nothing about the arts, but I think I'll find him through friends and that's okay too. I did have a dream that I met him when I was doing his makeup for a photo shoot.

We'll see in the future...

Not only have I found my one but two. I had meet a guy at gym, who was interested in me, but could not deal with the fact I already have two significant others, yet I was to accept his had 3 significant others, a wife and two kids.

But I'm content with my two husbands, and if a number 3 comes along, the it was just meant to be.

Here, maybe.

Or, through a friend.

Or, better yet - maybe I've already met him!

Today's my 40th birthday, and, I'm still holding out my belief that when the time is right that I will fall in love and settle down some day with a special person.

Not in a rush, though, but open to it!

I don't.... I'm out of the game for a while.

You know its very interesting - I honestly thought I had, but time has changed us. I've always heard that it will find you when you least expect it. Who knows - sometimes the best things are right in front of us and we don't even know it. Guess time will tell......

That's one of those things people say to comfort themselves.

My last serious LTR I met in a bar. This time dont really know. Not much of a bar hopper these days and even when I frequent one, I dont know that I want my next love of my life to be a bar as a meeting venue.

I met my first ex in college as another member of a gay social group, we didn't like each other at all at first but we had a bonding moment when we went to see Torch Song Trilogy, lol! The second ex I met at a bar and that lasted about 7 yrs.

My fantasy is a twist from a gay romance short story I read a long time ago. In the fantasy I have a car accident with someone, we exchange numbers for insurance purposes, he is concerned about my injury(that I don't have) and offers to take me to dinner to make sure I'm okay and not shaken by the incident. It progresses from there. How gay is that fantasy!

I don't believe there is a 'best place' to meet someone. And sure, a bar wouldn't necessarily be the greatest place to meet someone, since it's hard to talk properly, but you never know.

Like someone already said, you shouldn't restrict yourself that way. Be open to all possibilities!

I would love to meet my significant other in a yoga studio but that's just a dream haha.

Changing a flat on my bike on the side of the road. Either he needs help or I do....either way works. Id have to pretend not to know what I was doing though if mr right pulled up and offered assistance.

as frustratingly heartfelt as it is, I expect to encounter ' him ' at the intersection of being cheerfully distracted with living my life and the corner of having worked diligently to establish a miniature world into which ' he ' may be invited.

"Where do you anticipate meeting your significant other"?

....In an alternate reality where, when he says "I love you and want to marry you"...he really means it. AND where he isn't a huge duchebag!

And where you're legally able to do so - the trifecta!

Happy Birthday, RPMSoccer

I'm not sure why, but I've always fantasized about meeting Mr. Right while shopping for groceries. That, or volunteering at a local charity, so I know he has a good heart.

Bill and I met in a bar. The best place to meet your significant other is wherever it happens, lol.

Well, I'm not sure that is a side of perfection I'd like to see because of the amount of my craving. However to answer the question, I haven't looked around at all the sights and tourist attractions that there are in the world to hone in on such a place of wonder and ecstasy.

There's been times that I get aroused by a gorgeous man I've been chatting with online for a while that I imagined meeting him for the first time would bring an instant kiss from him idealy. He would run up to me and swoop me into his arms and either dip me to implant his lips onto mine, or twirl me around while carrying me then kiss me.

This has not happened, yet.
