RealJock should have a new listing category. We should be able to smartlist fellow RJ'ers. Even better, we should be able to dumblist people. That would be freakin' hysterical. I already know some of the people who would dumblist me! (And I really don't care.)

Who would you smartlist? What makes them worthy? icon_neutral.gif

    Well Dan,
This has been the post that made me smile ear to ear today! Let's not get into name calling but smart listing someone would have to require their ability to gather information, process it, internalize it and see how it applies to ones self and then share what knowledge they have to offer. Having said that knowing that during your time of process and internalizing that you bring your own life's baggage and at time's this baggage can cloud your vision and create tunnel vision yet your still open as you know life is about renegotiating constantly for this only brings growth... That might be the smartest guy yet!...Now where the hell he is, I'm not sure (my bf thinks it's him and it's not) LOL

The dumbest would require very little as they bring nothing to the table. There thoughts are strong and yet misguided, there passion is in tone w/ hostility and the ability to step out of one's self to have compassion to get a better sense of situations at hand is lacking for there thirst to know someone other than a mirrored reflection is evident in there gesture of a simple communication. It is dumb to walk thru life w/out tools for growth.

I've learned to forgive smart people's spelling errors. However, dumb people should be locked up and/or crucified for the same. I know it's a double standard. I just don't care.

    LMAO

Note worthy, however saguaroman you bring nothing to the table, which was my point! your brief description of self in your profile says nothing about you of any intrest but I guess knowing who you are and posting it required little effort. I guess we made ea others dumb list. you are the very example that I was referring to thanks for pointing that out in your post! Now....NEXT!

saguaroman saidDan, you are an enigma.

I'd prefer to be an enigma wrapped in a riddle dressed in a conundrum.

May I add that I think smartlists should include those who acknowledge their own errors and are making a concerted and noticeable effort to improve?

saguaroman saidWell, I just had a conversation with my toaster and it told me that Hillie was done.

You should have referenced something that required a little more intensity of heat such as a broiler! While the intensity of the heat comes frm the top. The surface woulda burned your ass but toasted that private photo!(assuming that's your face) This method is used to sear meat on both sides closing the fibers to keep all natural juices retained. In your case it would be to shut that useless trap on both ends, that release the same amount of garbage.Perhaps this is why your photo is private? Unless it's nothing more than dirty images of yourself that required no thought but haven't we visted this earlier? That you contribute nothing. Once again you've taken a seat at the table and kissed the host ASS! Next time bring a bottle of wine and it'll still be more than you offered at your last two seatings.......I'm hungry, someone please pass the jelly! Not the dumbass on the left.......Dan, the Jelly please

why would I want a dumblist? we don't have an ugly list on rj, why do we feel the need to insult people and then run around waving a flag about it to draw attention to that fact?

Honesty is good, unnecessary honesty is just that.

We seem to have enough negativism, a "dumblist" doesn't serve any positive purpose, except to cause ... more negativism.

A "smartlist" is better, but I'd say I'd have to pass. If you want them to know you think they are on the "mark" with their points, tell them.
    I have.

    Me, because:
    1. Studying for GRE exams (demonstrates quick decision making capabilities if not just motivation)
    2. Talking the manager of PacSun into giving me $16 off on my additional $20 off (demonstrates bargaining capabilities)
    3. Works at a marketing firm and hasn't killed myself yet (demonstrates endurance)
    4. Self-centered (demonstrates....um...oh)

    Me, because:
    1. Woke-up in the middle of the night hyper, tried to study for GRE exam but just ended up feeling stupid and hyper (demonstrates lack of quick decision making capabilities, and messed up circadian rhythms)
    2. Was bribed $16 by the PacSun manager in order to keep shut on my original intent to resolve a corporate error (demonstrates ability to have morals compromised with money)
    3. Works at a marketing firm and hasn't killed self yet (demonstrates inability to leave and find better work, therefore having lack of a backbone, strength, and courage)
    4. self-centered (well,...that one works here)

    I think I just cancelled myself out.icon_confused.gif

jprichva saidThere are a few people on RJ of astonishing stupidity, but I wouldn't care to humiliate anyone by naming names.

There are others, that's just a sampling. The intelligence level in general on here is pretty high, exceptions notwithstanding.

There are many here who have much to say, on a variety of topics based on education and degrees of experience.... its how its said that seems to make it more or less productive. There are a few very intelligent men here, but
may lack the social skills (some on purpose) to convey their ideas in a
way that is positive and well received.

The "flame wars" many times are created because some speak before thinking .... or conveying their thoughts in a less than well crafted manner.
Unfortunately some that may be "bright" or "smart" may end up in some
    unfortunate drama.

muchmorethanmuscle saidWell said, Big B. Very well said.

The attempts to cause chaos, harm and disarray are still flagrantly obvious, I see.

Muchmorethanmuscle, you're still missing the point. You see any attempt to praise as positive, and any attempt to criticize as negative. I see it all as truth. I would rather not go through life with blinders on. Too many Americans rely on feel-good messages, pretending that a high-school degree is an excuse to go on without ever trying to learn.

Well, I don't feel threatened by criticism. We just think differently. If someone thinks I am dumb, then I want to know why, because it's a nudge for self-improvement. If he or she thinks I'm smart, then I also want to know why, so I can continue to build on those qualities.

I'll make what I want of these forums. For those who wish to talk about how pretty the six-pack is above them, I bow to you and your freedom. It's really not what I am here for.

It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and say the opposite.

I'm giving you a funny look right now Mr...

He was agreeing with what I said and I happen to agree with him, you do seem to enjoy causing a few arguments and expand a great deal of energy arguing.

I also question your comment "if someone thinks I am dumb, then I want to know, because it's a nudge for self-improvement".. self-improvement... yes, that's always a desirable quality, especially as you get older and seem to hmm stagnate as a person (I swear people hit about 45 and they suddenly have frozen in time) however self-improvement is something that I see as a personal thing, someone calling you "dumb" but there standards is only by there standards, lots of people think I'm an idiot and others think I'm incredibly smart.

So you take this "nudge" and start changing to someone elses standard. Thats not exactly "self-improvement".

You might not feel threatened by "criticism" but you where just "criticised" and not only did you not bother attempting to listen to it, you put effort into writing a rebuttal to refute his claim.

Unfortunately, you are attempting to backlash against something you dislike by being as resolutely stubborn and pig headed as that which you dislike.

This shows of course in the few topics you have started and taken part in where you have expanded large amounts of energy arguing (I wont call what you do in those threads as debate) with other people and your usual stance is either much like you have just written, a variant of that, or attempting to get people to snap at our so you can prove your point.

I also find it odd, that you seem to have taken issue with Muchmorethenmuscle (in many threads) and have picked him out and been argumentative with him and yet, mostly ignore my comments and others who where much more cutting, brash, rude and so on..

    makes me ponder..

there are loads of intelligent guys on here. I wish they'd all post more.

I honestly think the true sign of wisdom is understanding how foolish that one is. I wish more people would have the humility to appreciate that---we see so little of that on here, alas.
