Anybody have any recommendations for the local gay scene in Paris, France? Tourists or locals! By day we'll be catching the touristy sights, but at night we'd love to catch up with the local gay spots. Places near the city center or the Latin Quarter would be ideal!

Clubbing in paris is very tricky of all European cities, different venues cater to different crowds and if you don't look like the crowd the establishment is looking for be prepared to be rejected, dress codes can be very strict usually unwritten and completely discretionary, and if you no one in your party speaks a word of french you significantly decrease your chances of getting anywhere good

Best to find a parisian to buddy up with and help you out

I am here now in Le Marais, it is a lot of fun. Hard to tell you what to do at night, as not sure what you like to do. Lots of regular gay bars, bars with sex, sex clubs etc. You can email if you want specifics.

    It is fun!

Ghen's a sweetie.pie but nothin sells in Paris like American cock. Just like MacDoo, no one will admit it but everyone craves it. Ah, god, vive la France, vive nous freres.

Try gayromeo.com for a good city guide.

Well yeah, being American will help and might do all the work depending on where he goes.

There's always tetu.com as another site, but he'll need to speak French.

It's the most badass art gallery in the world. I mean, you might not be cool enough. You might not like it. But... that's part of the deal with Paris.

It's not touristy. It's real French modernity. Do it.

Oh is it a deal of being cool enough? icon_eek.gif I was an art major. I can fake cool.

I like the idea of it being not touristy. I'm sure we'll be ready to get away from the fanny packs and baseball hats!

Thanks!! (Or should I say Merci!)

Bien sûr. You've heard about it. You're going. Therefore you're cool enough. Enjoy :-)

[I really think they'd actually applaud you if you go piss on the art there]

Not to be rude, but I think you're overestimating how much the rest of the world likes Americans....

I haven't had any trouble get in anywhere, and don't speak a word of French, and pretty straight in dressing. People have been very helpful. A lot don't speak English, just like we don't speak French, but most seem to like to help. I think it is all about attitude. If you act like a know it all American, you are going to be treated accordingly.

There is a great little cafe L'Open at 17 rue des Archives.. in the evenings the place gets so packed that guys are literally pouring out the doors. I've stayed in the Latin Quarter everytime I've been to Paris and have been able to walk there ( healthy walk )

Seems like every night is a good night. Things happen very late here, so get some sleep during the day, if you can.
