ok i took a long break which equals to three missed days from this site because i was tired of it. I got tired of seeing the same thread topics over and over. I posted a rather interesting topic about how commercial use of products are used to cause racial confusion and spread more hate in American society. I did my research and i supported the claim with proof and pictures. Needless to say some people didn't have a clue but some did of what i was talking about. The thread had over 1 thousand views and up towards 200 replies. Within the thread there were some blatant remarks made by some of the fellow real jockers who didn't seem to understand what is happening in America and some of the remarks were insensitive to say the least which showed how people think in general...(human nature) so how surprised i am to log back in the next day (while having my breakfast) and see that the thread is gone..erased from history just because its showing how people really think.( like the rawest shit you can ever read). When did censoring started taking place on this site?. It is not the first ive noticed threads just going missing either. So i guess the views of the persons that support this site don't count administrators?---- or do you feel that anytime a semi interesting topic is made where the educated gay male mind shows some form of intellect and form debates on topics you believe you ought to intervene and stop it...because it gets too "racy"- "Controversial". So its more interesting to read threads about "if the guy above is sexy or not" or "what cologne you wear" , 'what is a bubble butt" "cut or uncut" than reading something more important and realistically important in American history?? hmm it suggests allot...it really does about this site.

Wow. Your thread got deleted? That's unfortunate. But I think I can understand why. The thread got off topic pretty quickly and it got personal. Intellectual discussion quickly turned into a flame war. And I think that's why it got deleted.

Also, you posted pics of racist products that were unrelated to the main topic. It didn't exactly help prove your point with the Costco doll, since those products don't exist anymore or are not sold in the US.

I don't necessarily agree with the deletion, but then again, this isn't really our forum. It belongs to the RJ admins/owners. It's a business. They need to do what's best for them. And controversial thread topics can potentially scare off current or potential new members. And more importantly, it can scare off advertisers.

This isn't the first time a thread got deleted. And I'm sure it won't be the last. Not really sure what else to say about this.

When threads go downhill into nasty name calling and petty bickering, it is removed.. either by someone making a request to RJ officials.. or because
those officials deem it reasonable to remove it.

I agree with your comments..about future members and this site being a business....but you know i think they ought to leave thread comments the way they are. As the insensitive comments made by people ought to be recorded giving others the right to see how inconsiderate and ignorant people on here think. Leaving the comments the way they are set in stone the accused jock's stupidity. And when i look on a thread i want to see who made those insensitive remarks and also check out the person that made it. Deleting the comments is just wiping the slate clean for all these gents that think their own shit can make beef patties. i say leave the comments the way they are as i remember one guy typed" whats the issue with the doll isnt it accurate" that really stick out to me....now since the thread is gone i dont remember who it was....its comments like those that i want to be in record. To highlight peoples stupidity resulting int hem being placed on danisnotstr8 stupid/dumb list....update( Jmuscle33 made the comment and yes he is republican)

Another thread that vanished was the one Dan did on the inappropriate use of vulgar names... and listed quite a number.... The thread went downhill quickly into a nasty slew of comments. I never commented, I thought the whole thread was pathetic. But I had a part. I asked RJ to get rid of it.

Well, when you look at a guy's profile, you can add Notes on the left side. Those notes are only visible to you.

Well this is America, and my opinion is there is always going to be people like that where ever you are or where ever you go. When you have people from all walks of life they do not entirely understand others. Only natural right. My opinion is the people that suggest its not that big of an issue if one at all. Why should they care if have not suffered threw it or experienced it. It doesn't affect them life is good, all is well. God bless the ones that show concern, but I mean what can you do about.

Really my point is I don't think they will ever understand like you do unless they have been on that ship.

Yes, its sad, and most importantly what can you do about it?

. . . lighten up . . . this isn't gayegghead.com . . even Wittgenstein took time off once in a while . . . he liked to go see American detective movies and savor phrases like "case the joint" . . .

. . . maybe, just maybe, after a long day spent in the straight working world a guy just wants to talk about dick, or muscles, or musicals . . .

RealJock, from what I'm guessing, is run by conservative white guys who don't like provocative conversations and will do anything it takes to keep a "proper" image of this site, much like a picky club owner will kick out anyone from inside that doesn't reinforce their notion that the club is top notch and attractive.

Bottom line is: RealJock doesn't support freedom of speech to the extent other forum-based sites do. Although this site is catered to 21+ and you can post pics of your dick, you certainly cannot get into a heated debate on many subjects or piss people off. In a way, this site is like the inverse of current American television (where crazy heated debates are norm and nudity is largely shunned).

While this site is fun because it seems to be the only operable and intuitively layed out gay forum-based sites out there, I really hope someone makes an alternative version that doesn't have admin secret service deleting threads. I've taken part in other forum chat sites and threads are never deleted by admins, just locked, and are usually explained why they were locked. There are also moderators for each forum (who are usually well rounded, logical, level-headed posters who are deemed "boss" of the forum, control content within, and are in direct contact with both the admins and the public). Obviously that concept has not been manifested here, but should be.

tereseus1 saidWhen did censoring started taking place on this site?.

It'd be nice if an admin could answer this right? But they won't. They'll just delete this thread if they see you have a point.

If it makes you feel better though, tereseus 1, I can start some race-riot threads. icon_smile.gif I'm usually good at starting controversy, and have already been banned twice. I'm sooooooo edgy. icon_cool.gif

That's humanity's quandary with intellectual discussion... it's hard to keep the monkey inside and stick with the ego-less head.

There are many threads that should've been deleted before that one. However, none of society's problems are going to be resolved on a gay forum. Unfortunately, everyone gets so caught up in the drama, it makes it distracting for those who are trying to get something out of it. There are 3 issues that always seem to get heated, race, weight, and relationship styles or socially unacceptable choices of sexual partners.

The ego stroking or silly threads seem to be the only ones that don't go completely sour in the all things gay section.

I appreciated you posting your thread. I think it is a sign of the times, there just seems to be so much hatred out there, and people feeling like they are losing something, that they stop at nothing, or will say anything to try and hold on. Hang in there and keep posting if you feel like it. Don't cave in.
