One of my relatives was contacted by Judge Marilyn Milian asking if he would like to settle a small claim he was having with a local car dealership on the show. He would get a trip to California where they film, hotel and some expenses. Even if he lost the case he would be given $250 in cash.

He asked what I thought and I said "Hell yeah!"

So what if you come across like a moron on TV you get to go to California!

What do you think? Would you appear on "The People's Court"?

    Tex,

That's thing you can't appeal the ruling is final and that is written in the release and also the contract that you sign when you appear on the show.

In NYC you can't appeal a small claims arbitration either. And you usually take arbitration because waiting for a judge is an extra few months.

For me it's a maybe, it would depend on the case. I would have to weigh the possible embarrassment vs the free trip and bit of cash. I haven't seen these shows often, but it's not as if everyone looks like an ass. Some people are clearly right and manage to stay calm as well.

Absolutely not. I'll breathe a sigh of relief when people stop airing all of their inane dirty laundry in public.

Any daytime talk show is all about humiliating the guest! If you can make fun of yourself later it's worth it. I was on the Ricki Lake show yrs ago and got chewed out by a guest after asking a question. To this day at any holiday family meal, Someone plays this video and everyone pokes fun
