Has everyone seen Billy Crudup walking around naked with full frontal and Patrick Wilson's nice ass in this flick? WOW--superheroes never looked so good! Now all they have to do is quit pushing down Brandon Routh's Superbulge and I will be happy! icon_eek.gif
    Any thoughts?

Just watched it last night. Loved it. I agree, it was the sexiest superhero flick ever.

Have you ever seen the movie "Leeches!"? Totally homoerotic, but stupid. A swim team taking steriods causes leeches to grow huge and attack them. The whole movie is pans up and down and all around hot shirtless guys. icon_smile.gif

I enjoyed the movie, but didn't find it to be particularly homoerotic...

Homoerotic...i guess...the movie didn't do much for me...i didn't enjoy it as much as i thought I but...BUT...Patrick Wilson's ass was definitely a highlight. Dr. Manhattan's nudity seemed unnecessary in the movie (but then i've never read the comic so i have no idea).

Homoerotic as in you, a homo, found it erotic. Then yes, I agree, it is.

okay I still don't know what the friggin movie is about. All I can remember from the entire thing was the beautiful blue man walking around naked with the big ole' penis. I sat there for something like three hours, or however long the movie is, and all I can remember is that guy.

A movie which my roommate affectionately refers to as "pause and toss". I know....he's a gem LOL

I don't think nudity in itself is HOMOerotic. The nudity wasn't gratuitous, over the top, or exploitative (see the earlier post about the movie "Leeches", THAT was homoerotic). Dr. Manhattan was nude in the original comic.

I'm not sure why you thought it was homoerotic?

The Watchmen was so freaking boring, let alone it being homoerotic or not. About 80% of the movie is just one character having a flashback after another. icon_confused.gif

erotic, yes. homoerotic, not necessarily. but the digitization of the male anatomy couldn't get any better, could it?

The idea was that it stay true to the graphic novel. And, as comic book (or book in general) movies go, it accomplished this better than most.

The floppy blue dick was just part of the art icon_wink.gif

I thought that wasn't Billy Crudup's body walking around naked... I read it was the model, Greg Plitt. Billy's head was used in the movie but below the head was Greg's. Makes you wonder what the programmers were thinking when they put it altogether... icon_rolleyes.gif

I thought the movie was pretty good actually. It opened with Bob Dylan's "time's they are a changing", which is enough reason for it to be good haha.

In terms of it being homoerotic, I didn't think about it like that too much, excpet that blue body was to die for.

And for those who keep mentioning why the unnecessary nudity, I think it's to show his disconnectedness to the human race as a whole, and he no longer sees the need for conformity, because he has transcended the race entirely. Notice he has briefs on during their photoshoot, and a suit on in front of a camera.

The storyline wasn't great, but I think it was a good waste of time. Come on guys, there are much worse films out there!

Ah why must you all tease me?

My bf and I rented it recently from block bluster.

All their versions had him sporten the grey speedo! icon_sad.gif

I was mad. Not even because its hot, but because I felt how stupid it was to ruin the film. It was intended to sport full frontal.

If it was a character with blue breast I'm certain it wouldn't have been an issue.

Dr. Manhattan's nudity is supposed to symbolize his detachment from humanity and our cultural taboos. In the comic, when he first starts as a hero, he wears a full black suit that slowly gradually gets whittled down to a pair of briefs, then nothing.

I thought that Watchmen was unnecessarily aggressive. Some violence in the film were just...too much.

I thought I was the only one in love with Andrew Levitas character. So hot...damn. I liked Hellbent.

Yeah what I meant by homoerotic is: I'm a homo and it seemed erotic to me with all the nudity. LOL

I loved Watchmen and Dr. Manhattan was my favorite character. I identified with him the most and one manner to view his nudity is to view him, in totality, as other-wordly and no longer concerned with the human experience ... hence his obsession with building his monolith on Mars (at least, I think it was Mars). I want to say that it's not so much about superheroes as it is about the nature of man; highly philosophical in its nuances.

The scene I enjoyed was the climax of the third X Men movie, when Wolverine is nearly nude.
