I'm so glad the Illinois Attorney General is filing suit against these companies. I signed up for a 'free trial' a while ago and could not shake the marketers calling, emailing and texting me!

Just to clarify, acai isn't a scam. What these companies are doing is scamming people. Acai is just the product they're using. The antioxidant level of acai, and therefore it's health benefit, has been proven.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

Thanks for clarifying for me, man. The actual berry is, from the research I did, really good for you, but it seems that there are some companies who are selling it who are doing it in a bad way.

I personally find acai juice delicious. So, to me, the idea of taking it in pill form seems a waste of a good taste experience, like taking chocolate pills. icon_smile.gif

I never sign up for free trials or samples of anything. It seems there is always a catch.

yeah, saying acai is a scam is like saying pomegranate, blueberries, green tea, dark chocolate, etc... are all scams... Rarely is any fruit or vegetable bad for you, and acai is loaded with amazing properties to help your body. the fruit has nothing to do with sleazy marketers

On Ipanema Beach in Rio guys in speedos sell acai mixed with syrup in 8oz cups for about $1.

Acai is one of the worlds true super foods but unfortunately like all the other super berries unscrupulous people put it in little bottles, sell it at outrageous prices and claim you will see amazing benefits from sipping an ounce or two a day.

Even worse most of the the super berry juices are actually mostly apple or grape juice with just tiny amounts of the actual berry.

I am feeling that all of the health foods like Acai, Goji Berries, etc. are all overly priced. In the native countries, the price is probably pennies on the dollar. I had to change all my numbers recently but I don't know who exposed my numbers to the phone marketers. Not related to Acai though for me.
