I've always been a sucker for a sappy love story, but "500 Days" really was different than most. If you haven't seen it, treat yourself to one of the summer's real pleasures. Surely one of the best 0f 2009. It has a great message, and if you've had your heartbroken recently, it's a must see!

Well I certainly haven't had my heart broken, but I'll try and make it a point to see it.

I trust there are no hidden republican subliminals in it is there?

It really was the most pleasant, enjoyable movie I've seen all year. And a great soundtrack. And Joseph Gordon Levitt was fun to watch. Literally a must-see.

Hmm... I would disagree. I did enjoy it. It was pleasent I just couldn't get past how hip they were. Damn hipsters...

I thought the best movies of the summer at least were...

    Hurt Locker
    Up!
    District 9... was awesome.

Oh, come on! I've said it in other threads, but the Hall and Oates song-and-dance number cannot be topped.

The wardrobe was the only distracting hipsterness. Sweater vests and retro summer dresses.

Yes, you will come out of it wanting to start a grass roots organization in Kansas to nominate Sarah Palin in 2012 icon_lol.gificon_twisted.gif hehe

Agreed, great movie. The actors are great. The writing is very smart and funny and authentic. And the soundtrack really works well. Can't recommend it enough.

Definitely a must see summer feel good movie. I thought this movie was going to make me really sad in the end, because you pretty much know from the get-go how it will end. But I left the movie feeling really great. It had a strangely uplifting ending, and the last line of the movie nails it. Some of the best writing I have seen in a movie in a long time. Loved the music video-like fantasy dance sequence on the street to the Hall & Oats song. It's after he finally spends the night with the girl and he is feeling on top of the world the next day. Here it is:

Has anyone seen the special music video they made to compliment the movie?

I just saw it last night. I was already kinda skeptical about it. But having seen it, I have to say it was a damn good movie. I really liked it.

Plus, i think Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks really good in a suit. Or shirtless. icon_wink.gif

To compliment the Sid & Nancy reference in the film, the stars also did a Cinemash.

Does anyone else think that guy looks like Sean Penn in Milk?
