What's your secret shame?

I was reading the thread about fruitcakes, and I thought that it would be fun to create a new thread about shameful secrets.

My shameful secret is that I could live on fruitcake. While I pretend to have a discriminating palate, almost nothing makes me happier than a crappy Christmas fruitcake. I wait for them to go on sale after the holidays, then I stockpile them.

LOL that's too funny. My shame is I incorporating M&M with peanuts into my diet. Thinking i'm doing pretty well, I spoil myself 1 large bag at a time!

I have a small collection of mindless trash paperbacks that I've bought in airports. Clive Cussler and Dan Brown and the like. I hide them under the porn.

And Mind! icon_eek.gif Dirk Pitt is NOTHING to be afraid of in admitting! I also enjoyed Digital Fortress, although the NASA conspiracy one wasn't worth the read.

I have no shame, either... but I do have a few secrets...

I still get into comic books... Batman, Nightwing, X-Men... and I still have quite a collection from my childhood.

Oh yeah... and I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches on whole grain bread. Nothing makes me happier than one of those, even though I'll tell you I'm a filet mignon kind of guy...

My secret shame is that I love Jacqueline Susann. I am so mortified by this that I leave unread volumes of Tolstoy and Proust around on my coffee table. icon_smile.gif

I do have a bit of a sweet tooth. I also love bourbon
(but I seldom drink). I used to smoke 2-4 packs of cigarettes a day. I've been quit about 2 years now.
I need caffeine. It's not a want, it's a need. I drink a lot of Rockstars. I'm a little too proud of some of the things that I should be ashamed of. It's no secret that I'm misanthropic, but it's righteous and validated loathing.

    Rumi says:

Your doctor must have a broken leg to
doctor. Your defects are the ways that
    glory gets manifested. Whoever sees
    clearly what's diseased in himself
begins to gallop on the Way.

I've never paid for sex nor even hired a xxx video. When certain "stars" come up in these forums, I need to Google them. :")

    I forgot a couple...

I'm absolutely terrifed of spiders... except the grand daddy long legs ones, because their fangs aren't capable of penetrating my skin... So if you want to see me act like a scared mary, show me a big hairy spider...

I hate ketchup... more accurately, I hate the spice that makes it ketchup, which I think is called turmeric... can't stand it. I don't even buy ketchup...

I hate fruitcake... especially that green, bitter stuff they put in them... ICK! My mom loves them, though... so if someone gives me one, I'll either pass it on to her or shellac it and use it for a doorstop. However, there's one kind out there... Harry & David's traditional fruitcake... that doesn't have that bitter stuff in it (there's green-tinted cherries on top of this one, but they're not bitter). THAT kind of fruitcake I'll fight you for! icon_lol.gif Here's a link for all you fruitcake lovers...

I think real maple is so much better tasting, and for you, than the fake stuff.

    My secret...

I hate kids, but that is not a secret. Any one who knows me knows I hate kids. However, one time I had to baby-sit some cousins. There was about 7 kids from the age of 3 to 7. It was a living nightmare. I made some smoothies and put my "special baby-sitting secret ingredient" in it, Nyquil. I made sure to give them enough. It worked wonders.

Although I don't watch much TV, I'm completely addicted to "Dancing with the Stars". I've done a bunch of couples dancing in my past, and I just love seeing ordinary people learn to love their bodies and moving through dancing and connecting with another.

Now, if we could just get Cameron Mathison to dance with Maxim Chmirikovsky. icon_biggrin.gif

I own the television show "The Wild Wild West" on DVD. Gotta love all those close-ups of James West's/Robert Conrad's ass in those stretch pants!
