Is it time to start cutting?

So, been going to the gym since march 15th this year, have been working out and eating very very very regularly (getting crazy from all the food:rollicon_smile.gif. I must point out that for the first two months I didn't really experience any gains cause I wanted to lose some fat first and get used to training, so I was eating perhaps a little under maintenance. I've been bulking up for the last let's say 8-9 weeks. I'm 174 cm tall, I started out at about 71-72 kg (more like 69 if you take in cound the extra food in my belly and some water), now when I weigh myself in the morning it's 82 kg (again, take in count that I'm stuffed with food from the day before). I must also point out that when I started I had virtually no muscle because I had undergone dieting before that and had lost a lot of weight (by not eating properly, not exercise... not I know better...) and had also had mononucleosis in january this year. I've been eating about 3200-3400 kcal at first, now it's probably gone up to 3700 daily. I'm really lucky that I haven't really gained that much fat. I concentrated mostly on my upper body, doing legs only on occasion because I have genetically very strong legs and didn't want to overbulk them. I can still fit in the same pants I could fit into when I started bulking, perhaps they're a little tighter, but shirts have gone from a small to medium/large. I must point out that I do want to be big in the end (probably cause I'm tired of being skinny), but still not too big, more lean towards big. As I am not sure if I'm big enough (can't really see myself from a right perspective and always feel it's not enough, probably some issues with my self-image there but it'll go away eventually...) to start cutting and if it'll end up looking like I would like it to look, I'm asking you. I'll be posting pics today as well.

So, these are old ones from around 70 kgicon_biggrin.gif and around march-april. And I'm not ashamed to show them. And yes I know it seems that it's much less kgs, but it ain't, this is me at 173 cm and 70kg. My friend who's my height and 60 kg always bugs me that I have 10 kg more and look skinnier that he does, I just must be built this way...

So, that's it for now, higher res pics when I get my camera back, it's on a trip to Amsterdam with a friend of mine. I'd really like some honest answers now on how I am doing and if I should bulk some more or can I start cutting. I was thinking of slowly losing 3-4 kgs of fat, I think that should be enough. I must admit that I'm not that satisfied with my arms, but I honestly don't know anymore. Guys?icon_redface.gif

You don't look to be at the end of a productive bulk to me. You're 180 now? What would you cut down to?? Doesn't look to me like you have much extra size TO cut.

I'd up the diet and continue to lift hard if you want to be big.

Yeah, exactly my thought... I was thinking at least another 30-40 days of bulking... I don't wanna end up huge in the end after the bulking and cutting, but yeah, I think that if I cut now I'll end up with nothing. Problem is my parents and a few other people have told me that I'm fat, but I don't think soicon_rolleyes.gif.

What do you mean too big? A couple months of lifting and eating more isn't going to turn you into Jay Cutler, bro. icon_biggrin.gif

Anyone who think you're fat is crazy. My parents are a bit like that too, though; I think they think wide = overweight.

Yeah, exactly. wide=overweight for anyone who doesn't know better. Btw, for reference about which body type I'd like to have in the end, my body Ryan always comes first. So here's a pic, only for referenceicon_lol.gif.

I think Ryan there just lifted hard and ate right. Eventually the muscles just popped through, consuming the rest of the fat and giving him a lean look.

    Eat. Lift. Rest. Repeat.

At 158#, and 5'8", you have LOTS of room to grow.

#, octophre, is the common symbol for pound or lb. Your profile states you're 158 lbs, and 5'8".

    Height: 5' 8''
    Weight: 158 lbs

I'm about 180 pounds now, 158 was about 70 days ago, I wrote it here but forgot to change it in the profile.
