Hi, I am a beginner, I have a skate but I need some lessons or someone who like to teach me. I am in Montréal, does someone have some idea?

Are you talking skates or Rollerblades (inline skates)? I've been rollerblading for probably ten years and I'm still not the best at stopping. But, for blades, you're supposed to push your heel down and lift the front of your foot up. It can help to squat down a bit, bending at the knee.

As with regular roller skates, you can also point the front of your skates toward each other so your feet form a V.

I go blading mainly along the beach, so when all else fails I can hop off the path and into the sand, but this is really the worst case scenario. Sand in a skate's bearings are not a good thing.

lean back end scrape the back end of the board-like a wheelie but you don't let up the pressure- or jump off!!!

lol i mean that's the hard way. if you're just beginning it's a lot easier to use your foot to brake... either slide it on the ground or just kinda push off.

Easiest was is to stick your braking leg back behind you and use the insole of the skate to scrape against the ice or pavement. Sometimes you can also spin and fall down as long as you don't hurt yourself.

Locate a really big, fat broad and pile on. Contrary to public opinion, she will be nothing but grateful.
