I spent a semester in Australia back in college. I'd love to go back and spend a month doing nothing but trekking and snorkeling my way through the Whitsunday and Keppel islands, never worrying about anything more serious than keeping sand out of my bathing suit. Ah, happy warm thoughts for a cold winter day...

My dream is to travel to Croatia within the next year. I've even picked up a copy Rick Steves' Croatia & Slovenia guidebook. Such a fascinating history... and so beautiful. Hopefully, it won't remain a dream vacation for long. Guess I'd better get some work done so I can make it happen.

Two votes for Croatia, as long as I don't actually run into Rick Steves while I'm there.

So far, my favorite vacation was the trip to Yellowstone. I'd like to go back to Alaska and spend more time in some of the places we didn't get to see enough of on the cruise, though.

Dream travel/vacation would be to ski every continent. I already have N. America, Australia/New Zealand down. I'm planning on skiing Morocco and Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) in 2008. Europe, Asia (in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Japan) hopefully in 2009. I don't know how I'll get to Antarctica. S. America will be 2010.

Any place that includes an island, white sandy beaches, not crowded, tropical drinks, beautiful weather, hot looking guys.

Must not include: snow, rain, sleet, cold weather (below 70 degrees), multiple layers of clothing, and weather forcasts will not ever ever include the terms "wintery mix".

The 1920s! Or the 1770s. Or just about any modern-day locale where Coca-Cola is unheard of. Oh, and lately... San Francisco. ;-)

I've been dreaming of going to Australia for a long time and now we're finally going in April 2008.

I would love to see more of South America and Central America. Just recently went to Ecuador and loved it.

The one place I really want to see and must go to is Italy.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooo.

My partner and I spent a month in Turkey. If you hang out on the Aegean Coast, you'll have fun -- and by all means see Ephesus, an incredible place.

I enjoyed Istanbul for a couple of days, but we spent most of our time in the interior, in Cappadocia, visiting underground cities and looking at rock formations. We hired a private guide. Basically, my geeky partner turned the trip into a science field trip.

We both got very sick. We came home separately because he had business at WHO. He landed in a hospital in Geneva and I got violently ill soon after getting home.

I'm curious if anyone else has had my experience. I used to travel all over the damn place, but I got so taken with Spain, it's the only place I ever want to go anymore.

I grew up in Europe and went to college in Italy, so I kind of think staying in Europe again would be redundant.

I've always wanted to explore the Bosporus area, and maybe venture down into Lebanon. It's been such a crucial component of history that I think it would be fascinating to spend some time there. plus I spent 3 months reading ATATURK, and I want some payoff for struggling through that 800 pg biography!
