The OraQuick Advance Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test is used to see if a sample of your oral fluid or blood contains HIV antibodies. The health care provider will collect oral fluid sample or take a small droplet of blood from your finger./ The test takes approximately 20 minutes.

I have this test when I go for my 6 monthly check-up. They collect a tiny amount of blood from one of your fingers and put it in a small contact lense type container. then they add something else and the result appears in less than 10 seconds.
