Do you ever read to someone, like your partner if you have one?

Wouldn't it be cool to have someone call you at night and read a few chapters to you over speaker phone while you slowly fall asleep. icon_smile.gif

My roommate and I have read "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris to each other before going to bed.

How would you get the phone to turn off though? Be lulled to sleep and then you get a busy signal. I guess you could just enjoy it for 20 minutes or so and give each other a heartfelt "sleep tight."

My partner loves to have me read to him. I really enjoy it. I don't know about others cell phones but my Iphone would automatically hang up if the other person hangs up. Sounds like fun!

Huh, I never heard of reading stories before to each other. We may read in bed, but to ourselves. We might read something interesting outloud, a sentence or 2, but nothing more. I've never encountered that.

Whenever Bill had trouble sleeping I'd read to him, often a story I'd finished or was still working on. It inspired me to finish uncompleted tales.

There's nothing more satisfying and flattering than Bill falling asleep to the quiet cadence of my voice rising and falling in a narrative...

    FIGHTER!

A new happy me, a fresh new start,

Healing the pieces of my broken heart.

The pain not so raw, the wounds start to heal,

The ends of the puzzle, now starting to seal.

My outlook on life, starting, to look brighter,

Deep down inside I know, that I am I fighter.

    Heya Guys-
I *love* to be read to, especially when I'm in bed or on the couch.
This has not occurred with any frequency, ever, in my adult life.
However, it's so sexy to me to hear a guy read (well, one that I'm interested in), while I'm there next to him.

    Just sayin
    :-)

LOL I actually had someone in the past who used read to me every other night to put me to sleep. It was very sweet and comforting...until I was informed weeks later that he was a sex offender...icon_eek.gificon_evil.gificon_exclaim.gificon_question.gif

Wow.....That's got to be one of the sexiest things I've ever read here. No wonder you guys call yourselves meninlove.

When I was in a LTR, my guy spoke Spanish and at the time, I didn't. So I used to ask him to read me, or tell me a story in Spanish. Even though I couldn't understand everything, I understood the meaning.

And I speak Portuguese, and he didn't. So occasionally I would read him stories in that language. I must have been boring, becasue he konked out fast, usually in my arms...either that or damn I'm good.

Can't help but remember John Lenon's song "Beautiful Boy".
