Hey guys..thought I'd toss this out as it's always hard to tell on the internet and magazines which products are really good and which are just b.s.

I have been using MetRx Amped before and during my workout as suggested and wanted to try something new.

I like that it has creatine and glut, but it doesn't have all the sugars like some I've seen.

I'm just curious what other ones you guys have used and what you recommend.

    Thanks

    Dustin

I just started using N.O. Explode the other day so far I think I like it - friends are using N.O. Fury but I couldnt find it so i got Explode instead - gonna try and get Fury today and mix it up to see which one I prefer Ill let you know. Explode is 35 cal per scoop up to 3 pre-workout - it has a nice hit of caffeine so it might be tolerated by all.. I felt like the Hulk on crank though with it and I had pressured speech like I was in a manic episode...lol

I think N.o fury is a six star muscle product which you cam get at walmart for a heck of a lot cheaper than N.o xplode. I like no xplode but I prefer superpump by gaspari, but I know some guys who get the runs when they take superpump and guys who got sick in their stomachs with no xplode even after they adjusted to it. I was told from a friend that caffine constrics blood flow yet nitric oxide products increases it so I wonder how good for you no xplode can be. I think it would be like redbull and vodka which isn't good for you since it's an upper and a downer at the same time. Anyway I like superpump a little more cuz I can feel the pump more but that's my opinion definitely try and see what works for you

If i use a pre mixture then i currently go with NO Fury. LifeguardGuy is right, u can pick it up at wal mart for crazy cheap.

But 99.9% of the time i make my OWN mixture. This way u know exactly what ur getting and it's by far the best bang for ur buck:

    3g creatine, 3g glutamine, 3g taurine, 3g GABA, 3g AAKG, 3g l citrulline, 3g beta alanine - all powders not pill form.

In a shaker cup with water and maybe crystal light (orange is my fav) then down the hatcher. 1 serving pre 1 post workin out.

    Peace!

SuperPump, NO Xplode, Black Powder have all worked for me. I've found that it's good to cycle through a couple of different pre-workout supps to keep my body from adapting to them. Cgjock probably has the best advice though. Making your own custom blend will likely give you ultimately the best results.

are you taking protein with any of them pre-workout? or are you actually taking them right before you lift?

I drink a protein shake an hour before I lift, but I figure this stuff is probably more effective a little closer to gym time....right?

Pretty much every single product, such as the one the OP is currently taking(a long time ago in fact), as well as all the products suggested in this thread is a mix of amino acids with perhaps some caffeine.

Although I doubt tryptophan, an amino acid that is known to cause drowsiness, would be a good choice.

Dark Rage is good. It's quiet stimulating but oh the pumps. It starts pumping before you lift. Provides a lot of focus too.

Used to take Jack3d but they either changed the formula or I've developed tolerance even after cycling off of it. Jack3d micro sucks so save your money on that one. C4 is good, and it's the one I'm currently using.

Cellucors C4 exterme for my body is the best....I have tired craze, assault, super pump 250 and superpump max, NO xplode, hyper FX (i think thats name...its BSN's other pre) and the list go's on and on. Nothing has beaten C4 in energy, focus, endurance for me which is why I love it so much I am able to really push my body to the limts and get some great growth with C4...most of the other pre-workouts was pretty good but C4 so far is the best for my body (everyone's different) and the energy with C4 has no crash it slowly fades away which for me last 4-6 hours.

I recommend you trying some cellucors C4!!! I don't think you will be disappointed!

I use Neurocore. It's a creatine free workout booster. Seems to be working well for me.

Last I checked, that was a myth. Studies haven't supported that. Serotonin and melatonin do come from tryptophan, but if you take lots the body won't arbitrarily overproduce the neurotransmitter and make you tired.

Note that the preworkout drinks...most all of them, can be worse than taking AAS, in the heart rate and blood pressure elevation that they invoke.

Without an exception, every single person that I know that is taking these products that has let me monitor them has been at a high heart rate AND hypertensive.

These products are DANGEROUS. NO (nitric oxide) is a vaso dilator, but, a kick of 350mg of caffeine is a lot of caffeine for many. Caffeine, by itself, can actually be good for you, but, that much at once, along with the other ingredients are causing effects (stuff that invokes a shiver response / metabolic increase / try to simulate clen) that can be very bad for you.

If you use these products, get yourself a blood pressure monitor. I've seen 18 year old kids with over the top BPs using this stuff.

If you happen to not respond well, you can get optical neuritis, a stroke, tachycardia, or worse..a MI / heart attack.

Having hypertension pushes the goo against your plumbing.

There is a move to get many of these products off the market, and ...rightfully so.

I.e., the reuptake is not changed.

This. People shouldn't be taking supplements like Jack3d or NoXplode and the like without being advised by their doctor in the first place. Too many people are taking these supplements because people they know are taking them, and they're not considering that their bodies might not be capable of handling it.

cellucor C4 extreme only has 135mg of caffeine per 1 serving which is less then two 8.4oz cans of redbull or two cups of coffee...its really low on the caffeine par pre-workout drinks but still gives insane energy....not really sure where all that energy comes from but its powerful energy that doesn't make you crash.

I agree though some of these pre-workout drinks make your heart race fast when doing cardio and probably should be avoided. You should always check with your doctor before taking stuff like this.
