"All By Myself" by Eric Carmen...'specially if I'm already feeling lonely.

And because of the friends I've lost in the military, "Taps" will always make me choke up.

I don't know if any songs have the power to make me cry, anything by Celine Dion makes me violently sick.

    Save You -- Kelly Clarkson.

I think the song is about losing a friendship, but her latest CD came out within about a month of a friend of mine committing suicide. Very emo song!

"When You Say You Love Me" by Human Nature (written by Darren Hayes)
They say that if you wanna make God laugh
Then all you gotta do is tell Him your plans
...it's not that I don't really like the attention
Cos I feel like the only man in the room
    Are you really sincere,
Is this just something that you do?

    but also

"Anyone Who Had a Heart", especially Barbara Dickson's version from the early 1980s

"Somebody's Always Saying Goodbye" by Anne Murray

    "Good Enough" by Sarah Maclachlan

songs as such don't make me cry just by listening. when an artist shows real emotion when singing however, I sometimes get emotional. or under a certain circumstance.
Annie Lennox is a good example of this

I know the OP asked for SONGS that make you cry. There are no songs thus far that have made me emotional. (Luckily...I hate emotional outbursts)
    However, there is an operatic piece that at least gives me a lump in my throught every bloody time I hear it;
Nessun Dorma from Turandot by Puccini. icon_cry.gif
And only when I listen to recordings of Pavarotti singing it. It never fails. Bloody damned annoying I must say!!
    Cheers,
    Keith
