I used to buy Starbucks french roast beans at my grocery store and grind them at home. At a Starbucks, I used to order a non-fat grande mocha. Then I gave up coffee as part of my diet change, Now I get a green tea, preferably Tazo Ginger Green.

I've only been in a Starbucks a few times, despite the fact they are everywhere. When I have, I generally get some sort of Hot chocolate, not coffee (which I don't drink).... so can't evaluate.

I am not one of those people who gets wet talking about local coffee shops and blah blah blah. But Starbucks is really awful coffee. It is always weak and burnt. Ick.

    Agreed.
I like it hot and bitter with a true smell of coffee. Around here Starbucks is as expensive as some really nice and elegant coffee shops, but the coffee they sell at Starbucks is way not worth the money.

I've become a fan of Peet's Coffee and their various places around the Bay Area of California. I like the wi-fi and the atmosphere. Most of the people I see are friendly, attractive - it's all good. (Have to admit though - I'm more a fan of the hot chocolate they serve). Coffee smells great to me though.

This is the coffee I like. No bitterness, sweet, almost chocolaty flavor. I make it in a french press to get out the full flavor.

Can't stand SBUX coffee. When I go there, I generally get bottled water or Odwalla OJ.

    Meh

I've gotten good coffee and bad coffee from Starbucks and if it's bad I ask them to make it again.

    Starbucks.....

Is what is....a bucket of drinkable coffee, that they will make to order any way I want.

I could go somewhere else, it may be better, worse, stronger, weaker, colder or they may completely mess it up, I may ask for something they don't sell......If I go to starbucks I will get what I know and want.

Why it angers some people I don't know. I think it's because of coffee snobbery....

~Look at that fraud drinking starbucks and acting as if he knows and appreciates coffee, I must take him down! icon_twisted.gif

I can usually find something that I like at Starbucks. Every now and then I get a cup that tastes like I'm licking the bottom of the pot, though.

Here in Canada lots of people go crazy for Tim Horton's coffee. I hate it. It's my country's national shame -- after Kiefer Sutherland, that is.

Ever drive by a Starbucks with a drive-thru window, and notice how many cars are waiting in long lines to get their coffee? I'm not knocking Starbucks - although I don't drink coffee much - but it seems odd - with gasoline at $3.25 a gallon (or so) in California - to see so many huge SUV's sitting in those long lines, with their motors running. People must love their coffee!

Coming from a family of coffee-growers, I have to say Starbucks coffee can always be better. Most of the time they tend to over-roast their beans giving their coffee a slightly bitter-taste. Their breakfast sandwich rock though! icon_biggrin.gif

I would never buy Starbucks coffee. I grow my own beans, pick them quickly in a humane fashion, gently roast them to the strains of Vivaldi, timidly grind them with recycled steel blades, then brew them with "made from scratch" water in my hundred year old french press.

It may seem like a lot of work, but I'm worth it!

There is a GREAT coffee shop in Central Phoenix called The Lux. They have the BEST white chocolate mocha and their black coffee is amazing.

My dad is a HUGE coffee snob and he begs me to get him this coffee all the time.

haha. I don't drink coffee but they're popping up everywhere, so someone is liking their product.
