I don't care who the funeral is for, that's f*cking tacky.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32681668/?gt1=43001The Rev. Al Sharpton, who gave a eulogy at the public event and at Thursday's service, also extolled Knight's earlier performance of "His Eye is on the Sparrow."

"Gladys Knight sang her heart out. Now we prepare to lay him to rest," Sharpton posted on his Twitter account during the service that was held outside and then within the marble mausoleum.

Too bad it wasn't Sharpton's funeral. What a putz! Anything to gain publicity.

Sharpton is nothing more than any other media whore in Hollywood. His religious value holds no weight anymore. He has associated himself with more useless attention grabbing events and situation than any real religious or moral figure should. Twittering like every other celebrity is not surprising.

No no...that crosses WAY too many logistical lines...i think twittering while having sex is gonna be the next craze to hit the nation...seems more doable.

You should have dug a little deeper in the article for the real travesty

articleThe 11-year-old Paris cried as the group entered the imposing building and was comforted by her aunt, LaToya.

But I have to ask, when was the last time you guys were at a funeral? I was at one just a month ago and people were fiddling with their phones just like people always do when their are bored and anxious. And no one seemed to care.

Or, er, from the other side of the coin, it's been two months since he's died...the ever-sensitive Jackson family I'm sure handed out Blackberrys for just such a thing.

That is probably true. They arrived an hour and half late for the funeral, making poor old Liz wait in the heat.

Do you twitter when you fuck?

    Doesn't matter WHO it is.

Our society as a whole has truly lost our sense of appropriate public decorum.

Proliferation of discrete, electronic devices for communication purposes has exaggerated the problem.

Imagine how horrified someone would've been if ANY funeral guest whipped out some stationary and a nice fountain pen and started corresponding during the service.

The French word "travestie" means a transvestite. Thought it was funny in regards to LaToya.

I honestly cannot stomach Sharpton. Publicity Whore doesn't even begin to describe him. I swear the flashbulb is his birthstone.

I wasn't a fan of MJ, but it's so sad to see how the people who 'loved' him are exploiting his death...it's really disgusting. icon_sad.gif

LOL! I do think arriving that late to the internment was extremely poor, since they had more than adequate time to prepare. Keeping anyone waiting for you is bad manners, but when you consider the famous & legendary people there, under unpleasant conditions for some in frail health like Taylor, not to mention the disrespect to Michael himself, it really is the height of déclassé.

As for Sharpton, quite frankly I find it par for the course, and merely further confirmation of what I had already concluded about him. He will remain trash to the end of his days, no matter how worthy some of his causes sometimes are. It's all about him, first & foremost.
