    Yes.

I generally don't care what people think of me so critics are like water off a duck's back.

There are only a couple people whose advice would make me take notice.

We're all affected in one way or another by critics. I honestly don't believe that anyone is complete immune to the thoughts and beliefs and opinions of others. Those that usually assume so look at it in a microscopic way. But if you explore it and take it foward and begin looking at it macroscopically you begin to see that these few beliefs spread throughout an entire civilization and suddenly become part of an entire culture.

Such as a hatred for gays. I'm certain we're all affected by that here.

Going back to that more lesser individual level, How I respond to criticism really depends on what its about.

Some things just bounce off like rubber, others can stick around for a while.

I like threads like this that are open to interpretation.

I am not able to handle criticism with the "creative" parts of my life...piano playing, song writing, essay writing...etc.

I can handle criticism elsewhere....and sometimes welcome it.

It depends on the reasons and motivations for being critical.

Sometimes people criticize because of envy, insecurity, low self esteem, fear, ignorance, revenge and other assorted negative reasons. Usually, they offer no constructive alternatives to what they are critical of. Then its up to the person to dismiss the critics as clueless.

Sometimes people criticize and its actually just giving good (sometimes hard to hear) advice and they make a worthwhile contribution to an issue. Then its up to the person being criticized to consider the advice, for their own good........accept it or disregard it.

I'm pretty strong in both cases. But sometimes people can be intentionally cruel and that fact, not the actual criticism, is what hurts.
