I'm an amateur guitarist. Something i've always wondered about is the fact that there are NO famous gay guitarists at all, and i can't think of a possible reason. I mean, there are out singers, so the music industry should have become more tollerant, or not? icon_cry.gif
Or is it just because i'm the only gay person who likes playing guitar? icon_smile.gif

Yeah us pianists and organists are lucky that we got Liberace and Virgil Fox, among others. icon_surprised.gif

Gay guitarists include: Jon Ginoli, Patrick Goodwin, and Jeremiah Rangel. That's the best I've got.

P.S. Pete Townshend of "The Who" is bisexual.

I love guitar. I have two, an Ibanez acoustic, and a Lucero Classical. I usually like to just fingerpick and arpegiate chords. The sounds are so relaxing.

I've been playing for about six years off and on, when time permits. I know of others who are gay and like to play too. You're certainly not the only one. icon_smile.gif

Townshend is a pedophile. I'm sorry. You don't subscribe to a child porn website to do "research."

I can't, but it is my brother's passion. He even collects and makes his own guitars...plays in a band.........and loves every miinute of it. He's not gay.

However, if I ever met a gay guy that can play the guitar, I think I would fall in love.

In 6th grade it was manditory to play the guitar(which I loathed)and I always played with the tuning pegs. I got caught eventually and had to spend my lunches tuning all 30 of the class guitarsicon_twisted.gif.

IMO the Cello is so much better.icon_biggrin.gif

I took a guitar class ages ago. But I could never get the hang of it. My hands were too small to correctly and quickly change chords. icon_redface.gificon_lol.gif

Agreed! The organ is perhaps one of the gayest instruments there is!

I'm sure Carlo Curley is gay --- but he's certainly NOT an organist.

I play guitar too - classical and electric.

Howsabout Bob Mould from Husker Du? Great guitarist in one of the most influential punk bands, and he's still writing, recording, performing good stuff today.

I thought one of the guitar players from Queens of the Stone Age was gay. I may me wrong but I'm pretty sure my cousin told me that (who is a fan).

What about David Bowie. Does he qualify as a guitar player?

off the top of my head, i can think of Brian Molko of Placebo.

Op the guitar is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play..and one of the most difficult to master..

..What makes most people average is the lack of drive and influence..

What makes few players great is dedication and inspiration..

    So iv'e heard..

This thread is hilarious! Instruments are not linked to sexual-orientation.
I know tons of gay guys who play guitar - personally.

Matt Alber is the most well-known of these.

I don't "play" guitar, but I have played/used it extensively on some of the music I've written.

I also play trombone and piano.
