Not to sound like a broken record but want to lose fat mass and gain muscle mass- HELP!!

    Getting back in the gym after some knee issues. As a result of that and other stress gained a lot of weight and up to 240. Want to get back down to around 185-195 but also gain some muscle mass in my arms and chest (legs always seem to come easier... damn them.. LOL). Doing cardio 2 times a week right now. Also doing some weight work 3 times a week. Pondering increasing the cardio to 3 times a week. That consists of the elliptical as it so far has been the most comfortable in terms of my knee (spider bite dead center- think the venom got in the joint and did some damage). Any advice is appreciated.

    Yeah the monkey in the works is gonna be your knee issue
    because to drop those pounds you're going to have to burn some calories and cardio is the best way to do it

    But before you get goin on your workouts full force you need to get your diet down pat
    Hi protein lo fat and a moderate to lo amt of carbs
    drop all the fast processed foods
    and lose the alcohol

    look on this site and on the web for some full body beginner exercise routines...3 times a week to start and you can go from there
