    I'm more into the "citrus" types... I like Polo "Black", Nautica "Voyages", "Escape"... really liked "Desire Blue" (but not being made anymore).
    I hear there is a new one by Polo out now "Voyager" or something like that.

    I get a lot of compliments when I wear Jovan Musk, aftershave/cologne, but when queens ask what it is, and I tell them, they get kind of embarrassed and bitchy.

    It is my secret shame to this day that I often wear A&F's "Fierce" cologne - but I honestly get total strangers coming up to me and telling me I smell really good when I wear it, so I figure it's a keeper.

    Depending on time of year, occasion, time of day, and/or general mood... I usually wear... Dolce & Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, D&G Masculine, or D&G BY for men. I love these, they work with my body chemistry best, and they turn my S/O on...

    He tends to wear either of the first two on my list, or Versace, Tommy Hilfger, Hugo Boss, Euphoria, Escada, L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme, Aramis Always, DKNY, Givenchy Pour Homme, Aqua Di Gio, or LaCosta Elegence... all of which get me goin' when he's wearing them!

    I don't like the smell of cologne on a guy. People seem to take it too far and they smell like a department store. EEEEWWWWW! I would rather smell just plain man. Not bad BO, but natural calm Body Oder.

    Does anyone else not care for that expensive junk, and just like things simple

    gigman17b... Of course! Clean, natural scent is incredible... even the smell of a good clean sweat is attractive, too. But I'm a fragrance-oriented person... whatever I'm buying, if I don't like the smell, I don't buy it... and I often buy things I normally wouldn't buy, just because it smells good. That extends to personal scent as well.

    The key with a cologne, if you're going to wear one, is to use a very tiny amount, placed strategically... it should enhance your natural scent, not cover it.

    But nothing ever smells as good as a freshly showered man...

    QUOTE Dec 09, 2007 4:16 AM GMT
    I'm very un-trendy when it comes to scents; I find colognes that suit me and remain faithful to them until they go out of production.

    Day, casual: Likely nothing;
    Day, smart: Chanel Allure Homme;
    Night, formal: Givenchy Gentleman or Penhaligon's Quercus;
    Night, sensual: Yves St-Laurent M7 or Bulgari Black.

    But, every scent works differently on different people. What I like on myself – and get the most compliments with – usually doesn't "fit" with guys I find attractive; while I gravitate to the more mysterious, sensual scents for myself, I'm not usually attracted to the kind of guys that wear them – too little subtlety and too much ego. Umm, yeah. Anyhoo...

    What gets me going are the light, invigorating scents – citrusy or woodsy – and the personalities that tend to choose them. But when I come across guys that are exceptionally immaculate and beaming with that apple-pie wholesomeness, I don't want them to smell of anything but Ivory soap or fabric softener! Alas – in my experience – those baby-scented boys always have wives or still live with their mothers!

    No cologne ... ever. Much better when a guy just smells clean.

    And if you do wear cologne, no one should notice it unless they're within 6 inches of you.

    Polo Black has been working for me lately, as has Curve Crush black. I used to get all sorts of compliments with Clinique's Happy. Right now Diesel has a great new cologne. I've asked for that for Christmas.

    I concur. Polo Black never fails to elicit a "what cologne are you wearing?" from men & women alike.
    Gucci has a new one, GUCCI II POUR HOMME that’s really nice. Tom Ford also had a new signature fragrance that smells as sexy as he looks!

    for day: Marc Jacobs or L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake
    for evening or dressy occassions: Antidote by Viktor & Rolf

    I prefer the latter because people usually don't know who they are. I tend to shy away from scents that appeal to the masses.
