I'm naturally a pessimist but over the years I've tried and am still trying to see things as half full.

I'm an optimist that struggles with feeling that the glass is half-full.

Is there a more appropriate word for that?

Am always being very optimistic about things, but as it turns out not everything is there to be optimistic. So I gave up picking a line for optimistic and pessimistic, for am just a practical person, not worrying much about anything else.

I tend to be a little too optimistic, even when the glass is a quarter full and the water level is rapidly decreasing...

Total optimist here. Have an expectation that things will work out and they do. Doesn't mean I'm not a realist...but much more fun to go through life with hope and anticipation of the good to come versus worry or frustration of what won't.

To be an optimist, I feel you almost have to be completely stupid and backwards. Having said that, I am an optimist. One of my goals is having a lifetime relationship with one guy. I don't think that goal is rational given the statistical information, but I still have hope for some reason. Fiddle dee dee I say.

We're both pretty optimistic people, though also realistic, for any that see optimism as simply rose coloured glasses.

Celticmusl, to hell with the stats! lol!

I'm an optimist but a little too naive about people.

It takes me awhile to realize someone is using or manipulating me because I assume everyone has my best interest at heart. NOT TRUE! I'VE LEARNED THROUGH THE YEARS!

Sometimes, I will turn to my friends, who have somewhat darker personalities,to give me the down low on a situation.

Pessimism is needed in this world, you just don't want to get bogged down in that life view.

I love sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows, in that order. Does anyone know of any songs about unicorns?

Was Lesley Gore on the same bus as these nuns? The music starts at 1:05

I am a optimistic "the glass is always full, just reach for it" kind of guy, that is, I believe the possibilities to reach our goals are always there for us, provided that we do the effort of actually pursuing them with dedication and constancy.

When I put the effort and go for it, things go well even if there are a few unexpected issues; if something goes wrong or ends up half-baked it is always, always because I didn't put on it the necessary attention (which sometimes means realizing it is the wrong way of going about a particular goal). Getting better at that.

I've always been an optimistic person. My friends call it "positive energy". I like that. Even when I am down, I am never out. Don't worry, be happy.

LOL. I feel the same way. It's so easy to be happy when you don't see or can't see the big picture, ain't it.

As to the question: I try, but shit happens. Shit happens a lot.

I think it's the oppssite. Life is GRAND! When you can see the bigger picture it's quite easy to find solace. Nothing last forever and is it that important to dwell on anything that will keep you stagnant.

    Absolutely an optimist...
The money comes to me from somewhere.
There is a wonderful parking place just waiting for me.
I am a good safe driver, surrounded by good safe drivers.

Yet, true love tends to be elusive...

Realist... I don't think things just happen, they happen because people made decisions that made them happen. When you have control of the situation and make the right decisions good things happen.
