Oh those zany private contractors are at it again! I suppose their hypocrisy and dipshittery is still a vast improvement from, oh, acting like bat shit crazy militias that drive around in SUVs and slaughter civilians.

This is what straight guys do when they get drunk?

My straight friends don't do that.

    Maybe I need new friends.

Wait I don't understand. What is wrong with this? I don't see people freaking out when frat guys do the same thing, even though they've garnered so much scholarship and loan money for school. I honestly don't see anything wrong with this. What else are they going to do in their free time? I'd rather them lick each other's assholes during their break than kill civilians or chuck puppies out into the dessert (now that is seriously fucked up).

lol... that one guy in the pictures at night has a really cute ass... he cam come stay with me after he's discharged or whatever. Poor baby. lol.

but on the other hand, I can see why the military would be embarrassed. It doesnt look very professional.....

I don't see the big deal. Judging by their attire its clearly during their own free time so more power to them.

not the "military" -- where "conduct unbecoming" is a real charge. I don't know what a private security/guard service contract has in its fine print, but it may be that there are clauses about employees not conducting themselves in ways that reflect badly on the USA or the government, etc. Which definitely seems to be the case with the reaction "worldwide" as reports said.

The photos were fun,though.... icon_biggrin.gif "Frat Boyz Gone Wild" -- oh yeah!

(PS I don't remember any camo board shorts issued as uniform items when I was in the military -- but then, again, this isn't the US armed forces. And what ARE those black discs covering their parts???? I did like the thong on one guy seen from the rear! Didn't look like camo, though)

So if you had a job eating up shit-tons of taxpayer dollars, you would think it would be okay to act like this if you got bored?

Maybe it's just a little thing called "integrity" that I have, but I know if I was making as much as these guys, I'd make sure to do my job to the best of my abilities.

Also, in school if frat guys do this and do a bad job, they flunk out. But these assholes generally don't flunk (ok, in this case they did get caught) because they are virtually unmonitored. Similar contractor companies take tens of millions and build shitty-quality hospitals etc. for a fraction of the cost and pocket the rest. Whatever the scale, they're all crooks of the highest order. It just so happens that these crooks are eating your money up in vodka ass-shots. I'm not even fiscally conservative and this stuff makes me ill.

And my mind reels when I think at the scale of seediness perpetrated by these companies--what a cute American PR team they make! A PR team comprised of a pack-mentality-thinking bunch of social invalids who actually punish those who don't join in on their dipshittery is just what America needs............................

But, basically, I would've assumed that it goes without saying that their actions are not warranted given the time and the place. Sorry, they can all get fucked.

*cue joke about wanting to fuck the guy with the nice ass*

Also, this is in response to the "it's clearly done in their free time, more power to them" comment:

An Afghan national employed as a food service worker at the guard corps' base at Camp Sullivan submitted a signed statement dated August 16, 2009, attesting that a guard force supervisor and four others entered a dining facility on August 1, 2009, wearing only short underwear and brandishing bottles of alcohol. Upon leaving the facility, the guard force supervisor allegedly grabbed the Afghan national by the face and began abusing him with foul language, saying, "You are very good for fXXXing." The Afghan national reported that he "was too afraid of them I could not tell them any thing."

I love good times that involve dehumanizing and abusing people!

Despite repeated warnings and reprimands by the State Department in the past, this juvenile company was still awarded the contract. Now, the State Department is sending over man power to oversee these guys. So now we have people overseeing the people who should be overseeing in the first place.

Why can't the friggin contract simply be be terminated with this company and a new more responsible company take over? I wonder....who in the state department is being paid off?

Shouldn't this embassy be protected by military personel, rather than contractors?

If I was Taliban, I would know exactly when to strike..

I spent four years in AFG working for a private contractor. Unfortunately; nothing this cool ever happened.

Lighten up........it's a really shitty situation over there and these guys were blowing off steam. I did spend a year attached to the Special Forces; and they got close to this kinda thing a couple times, but they were involved in some really scary shit.

    It's just what guys do

Fair enough. But does the rest of the world also go out of its way to taunt, intimidate, haze, and harass? Does the rest of the world seek to offend the host country it is supposedly protecting?

These contractors are an offense (not to mention, an embarrassment) to our democracy. Now we outsource war too! If the military rules are too strict, who cares, we'll just hire some no-accountability civilian dipsh*ts. Great idea.

I am not surprised. Whether military or private contractors, you teach and train humans to dominate others for pay and they'll do it for fun. I hope our government continues to act swiftly - this looks horrible on the world's stage. That aside, I could totally get behind the naked fire dancing with the guy with the hot ass.

When or if the Taliban attack the embassy during these "TIME OFF" periods when the guys are "doing what guys do" and blowing off steam, I wonder if it would still be considered "cool".

Heads should roll in a big way over this. It's a total embarrassment to the U.S., not to mention conduct that is just unprofessional and inappropriate. They are there to do a job and I think they have a responsibility to conduct themselves appropriately while guests working in another country --- even if it is during their down time. Sure, they have a tough job, and they certainly deserve to blow off some steam during breaks, but there is a line that they obviously have crossed.

Read the whole article. There were numerous accounts of hazing and creation of dangerous circumstances for fellow guards. Furthermore, you're never "off the clock" in those situations. All those things happened in their barracks.
