We "CHRISTIANS" are all empowered to sin, or not to sin, HOWEVER we are NOT Empowered to judge others by their sin BUT we are empowered to teach by our own actions, words and thoughts. Love will find a way and trust in God.......

I would hazard a guess that it means "lest thou be judged".

More proof that religion destroys the mind. icon_rolleyes.gif

I am sorry, I could never proof read my own work. Still, I hope you will overcome your hate of religion. I will keep you and all whom post hateful or negative comments due to ignorance in my prayers. “Treat others as you would have then treat you.” Is another virtue I try to follow. I am sorry if I am humane and I made a mistake. Thanks for stopping by to post a little hate. It shows you are also human. No one is perfect, there is still the potential of good in everyone. Next time try to post something positive and uplifting for a change….

Many times the mind has to be destroyed before it can be renewed because the mind of sinful man is HOSTILE toward God. But nothing we do can restore our relationship with God. But God restored it perfectly when Christ said, "It is finished" on the cross. Now eternal life is a promise that we can count on because of his great love for ALL of mankind without exception. God eternally saved ALL through his only begotten Son.

Sin Shmin ! Fuck that shit ! Sin was invented to instill guilt and thereby control the masses, as well as to enrich the bastards of organized religion.

If anybody does the best they can to follow the Golden Rule, you can't ask for more than that...

This is "All Things Gay"? Since this is "All Things Gay" I'll ask a few "Gay" questions. How does the church you belong to view homosexuality? Also, does your church support/accept same-sex ministers in committed relationship, or does your church view such a person as unworthy to be a leader in your church?

As hard as we fight against being judgmental, we still do it, not because we want to but because we are not perfect.. But I hope I never judge another Christian for their sin because I have enough of my own to judge without judging someone else. Love is the fulfilling of the law and since God loves us inpite of our sin, shouldn't we also love and forgive others, too?

"MINNEAPOLIS – Two smaller, more conservative U.S.-based Lutheran denominations are expressing disappointment in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's decision to open a wider door to gay clergy.
The ELCA voted last week to lift a ban that prohibited sexually active gay and lesbian people from serving as ministers. Under the change, congregations will now be allowed to hire homosexuals in committed relationships as clergy. Before, gays and lesbians had to remain celibate to serve as pastors.
The 4.7 million-member denomination, which took the actions in Minneapolis at its biennial meeting, became the largest U.S. Protestant denomination to take that step.
The Rev. Gerald Kieschnick, president of the 2.4 million-member Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, said the decision ignores biblical teaching on human sexuality, and threatens to further harm relations between the two church bodies.
"The current division between our churches threatens to become a chasm," he said.
The Rev. Mark Schroeder, president of the 390,000-member Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, based in Milwaukee, issued a statement expressing regret about the move.
"To view same-sex relationships as acceptable to God is to place cultural viewpoint and human opinions above the clear Word of God," he said.
"We are saddened that a group with the name Lutheran would take another decisive step away from the clear teaching of the Bible, which was the foundation of the Lutheran Reformation," he said."

I wonder if anyone here belongs to one of those two smaller, more conservative Lutheran churches?

No, sin was not invented because I do it. It's real. I am not perfect in my love for one another. That is a fact because I see it clearly in me and in others in how they treat others. If a lack of love and kindness on the part of all us is not sin, then what is it? It certainly isn't anything that I would call good, would you? And everything that we do which shows a lack of love for one another is evil and is most certainly sin. That is not controlling anyone. It's stating a fact about how evil some people can be towards others.

But people DON'T DO the best they can do and that is sin. Some people are lazy and can do much better.

When we don't do our best in school, that is sin, no getting around it. When we gossip about others to make ourself look better that is most certainly sin. When we bully others or remain silent when someone else is being bullied, is also sin. When we get involved in gay drama or when we lie and are not truthful and honest in our dealings with others, that is most certainly sin. Anyone who says they NEVER do anything of these things are the BIGGEST LIARS and HYPOCRITS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Sounds like the Pharisees and teachers of the law who thought they were so much better than the adulters, prostitues, robbers, thieves, and other "sinners," but they themselves thought they were so holy. yet they were the most unloving people in their self righteous judging.

I learned from you to have sex outside of the bounds of marriage with a man whom I may not love, but lust over (not really, I sorta taught myself). I learned from you to join a "fitness" site in which to lust over men all day if I wish. I learned from you to use bad grammar in public. Do the other Christians know what you are teaching people?

Don't get hung up on denominations. God ISN"T going to care a shit about what denomination you are. A denomination or church will not save you. IN CHRIST ALONE YOU ARE ALREADY SAVED whether you belong to a denomination or not. When Christ said on the cross about our salvation "It is finished" he meant every word of it. His life and everything he did on our eternal behalf has guaranteeed you eternal life with him. Our life of love towards others is simply our response of thanks for his llife of love torward us. Love is the fulfilling of the law--love for God ( and how can you not love him when he has secured and guanteeded us eternal life) and love for our fellow man whom God also saved just like us. TRUE RELIGION is "We love him because he FIRST loved us. And we reflect that same love God has for us by showing love toward each other. Love is treating each other with forgiveness and kindness, just like God does with each one of us. The hardest 3 words for anyone to say is not "I love you", but " I forgive you."

If someone is cheating on thei r married spouse, they obviously are not showing love to them, which is sin. That is a no brainer. That is NEVER a good thing for anyone for any reason. When gays also cheat on their partner, they are also not showing love to them and is sin. Yes, other Christians know that I trust Christ entirely 100% for my salvation. And out of love for him they also know that I want to love others as God first loved us.

i'm sorry, i don't have anything to add; however, the title of this thread is bugging my shit...

    it should read:
Do not judge others, lest they should judge you in return

    or

Judge not, lest ye be judged (formal)

    or

Judge not, lest thou be judged (informal)

lest: conjunction. a word that stands in the place of the phrase "for fear that"

I am referring mostly to the the social agenda a church presses. IF you support a church working against gay rights/acceptence - you are a Gay Uncle Tom! There are several churches already making the move of accepting homosexuality. Would a black person support a racist church? NO! So why should gay christians support anti-gay churches? Just seems so common sense that someone shouldn't support those working against you. Especially if a similar donomination has already made the change. Sadly, some just don't get that.
If there is a God ( I personally doubt there is though) I would agree someone's dosn't need a church to be in contact God. Here on earth, however, different denominations do press different social agendas (e.g., acceptence/disapproval of Homosexuality).

This could really frost a few, but this is where I am......All I ever really needed to know about "religion" and the history of mankind, I learned in grade school.
In grade school, I learned that any and all religions are, and always have been, tools for mass control of the uneducated, the lazy and the un-thinking.
"SIN" is simply one of many manufactured elements to help legitimize this mass control tool.
If history can be used as a measure of how successful " religion" has been at doing as they say, related to "judge not, lest ye be judged", "love thy neighbor", etc, their failures are the epics of mankind's history of cruelty, warfare, torture and hate, through out our existence. Yeah.....I definitely want to subscribe to these destructive philosophies...NOT! .I'll take my chances without the "benefit" of organized religions and just live by the "golden rules" of common sense and those my parents and grand-parents taught me at a young age. icon_biggrin.gif Thanks.

But we are empowered to speak up when something is wrong. Instead of being politically correct and saying nothing.

    Love one another.

Anything else is bullshit. Speak up against bullshit. Especially when it is based on fear, ignorance and hatred and greed.

Using the word Christian refers to the way Christ lived his life....and he rebelled against injustice, and those who abuse power and authority.

flexonyou, it's hard to know how to respond to you generally. You've started a bunch of threads seemingly intended to provoke and inflame, posts making statements that even most other Republicans on this site find ludicrous. And now you start about a thread dedicated to the idea that we ought not to judge others lest we be judged ourselves, although you have spread statements that are at minimum extreme exaggerations about the Obama administration and at worst outright lies spread by people who are transparently insidious. Fortunately, no one here except you seems to believe the defamatory things you've posted.

I'm sorry but it's also hard to know if we even can take your posts seriously as a true expression of what you believe or if you've created a persona through which actually intend to mock the thoughts and beliefs that you express and spread.

If you actually do believe the stuff you post, then I recommend that you start supplementing the news organizations from which you currently seem to take your information by reading, if not the New York Times, then at least a journalistically respectable conservative publication like the Wall Street Journal.

Reading a well-written newspaper might also help you to learn to express yourself more clearly and with greater logic, although, honestly, you first need to learn to think logically and to stop believing outright nonsense
