How do I get over the embarrassment of being without a shirt(barechested) to family.

I really feel uncomfortable at home when my stepmom who raised me, looks at me barechested so I have to put at least a tank top on. I'm not as self conscious if at a beach in front of others since most men go without a shirt there I fit right in.
I really want to find out if other men feel uncomfortable in front of their mom or sister compared to brother and Dad.

I walk around in my underwear...I even open the door in my underwear. I'm just used to it I guess, But sometimes I have to watch how I sit so I don't unleash my secrets!icon_biggrin.gif

My stepmother feels uncomfortable if I walk around my house in underwear particularly if I stand in front of the open fridge. I don't care at all icon_lol.gif

For some reason, most of us are raised to believe that any nudity is shameful. And, it just keeps getting passed down from one generation to the next.

My stepmother had a rule that I had to wear a shirt at the dinner table. That was fair enough...

In my house, I wear as much or as little as I want, as do my sons and my sister. After a bath or shower, coming out of the bathroom in underwear or a towel is expected and normal.....if anyone else is in the house at those times, such as un-expected visits from "friends" or family, then they just get a "show" and will have to live with it...tough shit!
Actually, before I lost my weight, I had such a poor self image and such low esteem that I was embarrassed and ashamed to be seen in anything other than complete covering of clothes. Seeing a Dr was a nightmare of shame and embarrassment. swimming never happened and I slept in full sweat shirts and pants.....now....well, still have a few issues, but there is an even chance of me being nude as clothed! and around the house or on the beach or in the pool.....I probably won't have a shirt on unless I'm getting sun burnt. LOL! Hairy chest and belly and all for anyone to look at and enjoy to their content! The human body is amazing, we all have one and they are all unique and amazing! Enjoy the variety and share your uniqueness! Still...I won't wear "spandex" I just don't have the build to do that. And I believe that wearing spandex is a "privilege" not a right....... although, If I am going out bike riding....I wear my lycra bike shorts for the comfort and support they give. LOL! So you may get an eyeful that tells my religion and which way I'm hanging! LOL! Shit happens and get over it! icon_biggrin.gif
