    I was wondering if anyone else has had difficulty with GERD while running. This is a new issue for me. I have been running long distance for many years and this issue just started up last year. I had forgotten about it until just recently when it has returned. It usually occurs when I run in warmer weather, putting in greater effort and going longer distances. I have started to take an over the counter acid reducer (ie. prilosec/zantac) and this seems to help, but I am bothered at why this is going on. I am not asking for a diagnosis online. I am asking if others have this trouble.

    Thanks guys!!!!

    Not while running, but while doing other strenuous work, ie, lifting plywood/drywall/lumber, too soon after a meal. Try waiting more than 30 mins. after a meal before a run. Also, try unfiltered, raw apple cider vinegar 2 tsp. in 8oz water taken 10 mins. before a meal. Seems to have helped me.
    PS: Don't take OTC acid reducers for long without consulting a doctor! PPS: Sugary foods/drinks seem to set mine off. {Don't think you consume sugar? Read those labels!}
