    Uh. WE can afford.

I'll wind up paying more than most of you for this "public option" because I own a small business.

How so ... you have to pay now for your employees
If the cost of healthcare comes down then you'll have to pay less

Is this a new talking point I missed? A public option will benefit small business, not hurt it. It will provide a more affordable option for them and their employee, all the while many will be eligible for subsidies. I'd like to hear where that came from.

I dont provide it for them and I wont. If they want it they can buy it themselves.

I dont even have any nor do I want anything the government will "give" me.

With employers like you, this is exactly why we need it. Are all of your employees able to afford a private plan? Are you aware of the costs of a single person private plan?

JP85257, what happens if you're injured or get very sick with, say, cancer?

Do you just close the business, sell everything and live in your car during chemo/radiation therapy?

I own a small business too. But the solutions to this country's serious problems aren't about me and keeping the status quo and resisting everything that might reduce my bottom line.

There is priceless advantage in any society, both morally and economically, when people are healthy and have good health insurance.

Everyone has to white knuckle it and fix things. Somehow, we will survive the transition and ultimately become stronger and secure.

    No pain, no gain.

imagine picking and choosing how we are taxed and paying ala carte for every single service! There are thousands of things we all pay for in our taxes that we wish did not pay for [i.e. 60% of my $5000 a year property taxes on just 750 sq ft goes to the school system and I dont have a kid!!] Where is my townhall forum?? It does not exist because its in investment in our children and our future as a nation. As is healthcare- hence why medicare, VA benefits and social security exits & no one bitches about them.

Obama just needs to be honest... he believes everyone should have healthcare.... to do that is gonna cost us a boatload of money... and you are gonna have to limit what is covered... insurance companies do it today and if the gov gets involved they will do it too... tell the truth and then make the case about why we need it.... simple, honest....

obama-care is in trouble cause he is f--kin lying about it and everyone knows it...

I have a friend suffering from cancer. She cant get the treatment because it is a pre-existing condition. Even if I don't end up using a public option. I wouldnt mind paying a bit more in taxes so someone in need gets the help that their life depends on. I'm an organ donor for that reason too.

You own your own business and dare to complain you *might* have to pay more for a public option (which most likely isn't true, incidentally, since no one is going to eliminate the private insurance you already have), so you'd rather keep a mother and her kids, as well as millions of others, uninsured? I have one word for such selfishness and greed: DISGUSTING.

You're shooting yourself in the foot as well since a public option would reduce costs and improve the economy overall, eventually boosting your business. It's amazing how conservatives' greed and selfishness work against even their own interests in the long run... karma?

And frankly, any employer who doesn't already provide his employees with insurance doesn't deserve respect, let alone sympathy. I wouldn't work for someone like you in a million years--and I hope your employees wisen up as well.

What EVERYONE fails to realize that I am barely keeping my doors open as it is in Obama's Economy. More taxes or being forced to pay for insurance will put me out of business. I am close to losing homes, vehicles, and other personal property because of the shitty economy. Flowers are the first frivilous thing to go.

    But go ahead and judge.

everyone is going to be covered....limits on out of pocket expense... no limits on max benefits.... better prescriptions for seniors...affordable...no rationing...cost less...and how are we gonna pay for it... medicare fraud... how bout taking a year and cutting all the medicare fraud out and seeing where we are then....

if it sounds too good to be true... it usually is...
