An equally appalling fate awaits the females. They are crammed in a crate, force-fed impossible amounts of food, lay eggs daily for awhile, then chopped up all the same and eaten.
Chickens don't have a good life.
For this fact alone I agree with the moral arguments of vegans. I was, however, raised on a farm, partook in the killing of chickens, pigs and cows, and ate them, even after having named them ("Elsie...oh, Elsie, you taste so good with A1...").
Either we kill animals for food, or we all go vegan. Until then, chickens will be chopped up. On the bright side, the ground-male soup is made into nutritious animal food.
