southbeach1500 saidThis is very good... up until about the 3:15 mark... then, most of them show that they have an understanding that is 180 degrees opposite what our nation is about.... "I pledge to serve Barack Obama???" Ummmm. Noooooooo... He (and the government) is supposed to be serving we the people!
I thought that everything they said in the video was valid. The messengers may be suspect in their excess and disconnection from society. Yet tell me one thing that was said that is not a valid point or would not improve our daily lives as individuals or as a society as a whole?
What is most amusing to me is that the poster of the web video states,"I Pledge! : disgusting show of brain dead imbeciles telling you and our kids how to live." Yet all the celebrities statements are what they plan to do, to make the world a better place. Perhaps the implied message is to lead by example, but they are not necessarily telling you what to do. In fact the poster is making a a supposition that the message is aimed at influencing how you raise your children and creating an air of fear. Which is clearly not the case.
I thought it was interesting that the comments from the youtube audience did not talk about the subject of the video and simply addressed, for the most part, the status of the "elite" media personalities hypocrisies, which is valid. The mere fact that the message came from a democratic president skews the views of the biased audience.
If the message were from Bush with the comments would probably be the same. Attacking the Republican president which begs the question," Why does the messenger matter when the message is valid?"
