Beautiful Guys -- Are You More Likely to Consider Them Gay?

I have a friend who people regularly refer to as "beautiful". Even in Austin, a city filled with very fit and attractive people, he stands out. His face is masculine but his features are just perfect. He's beyond handsome.

His skin is perfect, he's got that chiseled jaw, high cheek bones, and those indentions on the side of his face like you see on models.

He gets complimented by men and women, and can pretty much get any guy he wants. It's always the same word to describe him though -- "beautiful". Never hot, handsome, or good looking. "Beautiful".

He happens to be gay but my question is, if you see one of those rare male species known as "beautiful", are you more likely to consider them gay or not?

Famous examples include Tom Cruise, Zac Efron, and that dude married to Halle Berry.

    Funny.

It actually defies logic but there was a study done that said that male beauty is actually less likely to be correlated with homosexuality because a handsome male has better genes and is at a disadvantage if they're "wasted" on primarily same sex sexual interaction.

Somehow I don't think that that "that dude married to Halle Berry" is gay and as for Zac Effron he's not beautiful and a believe he has an GI Joe plastic bulge down there ever since he was made in a test tube by the Disney corporation

I came across this and wanted to comment.. I have been called beautiful before (not trying to boast) and for me, it was actually quite uncomfortable.. I'll be honest, I need to learn to take compliments better, but for me there are so many other words that can be used to refer to a guys looks then "beautiful." Maybe its just me, but I think its a bit feminine. I am a masculine guy so I take comments like that a bit personal..I would much rather someone say your good looking or attractive...

I dont know.. I guess everyones definition of beauty is different as well.. It all depends on how comfortable someone is with themselves and those giving the compliments..

absolutely no idea, I don't go for pretty boys so they don't register much besides noting that they have an interesting face..

I like someone a little rougher

As soon as you added Tom Cruise and Zac Efron, I was done with your perception of "beautiful".

Okay I'll admit Hallie has a hot husband icon_biggrin.gif, but I think all men have a certain facial look what makes them sexy.

I tend to think that every man is straight until proven otherwise. I generally don't correlate beauty with homosexuality or heterosexuality.

I think straight guys don't even know how good looking they are sometimes.

Not to mention a lot of them have no fashion sense

Sorry but Zac Efron looks more like plastic surgery gone wrong than he does beautiful.

This is essentially how I feel about seeing a beautiful man. But it's also how I feel when I encounter an extremely kind man. Thus, it balances out ... sorta.

Considering whether or not they're gay has never crossed my mind. What DOES cross my mind is that they must be a fucking high maintenance mess, and would take too long to get ready in the morning.

I think it would be more interesting to know how many guys (as LilTanker said) avoid the pretty ones because they don't find men who are 'beautiful' attractive? I'm another one..

I don't like fake looking guys, whether beautiful or not. If I wanted over-manicured, I would date a woman, or Ryan Seacrest.

Another thread teeters on the brink of turning into a venue for headless people to give themselves compliments for which they have no above-the-neck proof.
